So...what the hell was up with Miller taking such an obvious tripping penalty? Not that I didnt like it on some level, I mean, It was miller reaching out and tripping crosby with his stick, it was fucking awesome. But...here on the real world it was kinda retarded. I dont remember when it happened in the sequence of crosby getting a fucking HATRICK against ryan, but it seemed pretty pointless to me.

Anyone think it was a morale thing? If so, I have to think there are better ways to get your team riled. It wasnt sneaky, it wasnt effective, what WAS it?

Actually, Hecht took a penalty the same time, Miller wasn't called for tripping Crosby.

Even in the game the announcers were like, I wonder how Miller wasn't called.

I want to say it shows like that because Hecht served the penalty.

haha, wow, I was watching the pens feed (High Def), and they said that it was a minor on miller that hecht was serving, they didnt say anything about 'how did the refs not see that'. I did have company, but we were all watching, so it's not impossible I missed that.

No, Hecht got a tripping penalty the same time.

It would have shown Miller for Tripping had he received a Minor because the player serving doesn't get PIMs in that case.

It was weird, but Miller didn't get called for Tripping.

Yeah, Miller wasn't called on it. Crosby talked about it after the game:

"He knew he got me, but somebody else (Jochen Hecht) got the penalty. I don't think the refs saw it," Crosby said. "Goalies are sneaky sometimes. That's what they do when you're in their crease."

I doubt Miller was doing it to spark the team, he was probably just annoyed with Sidney and his little hat-trick.

Well Hecht was called for tripping Sidney Crosby so I guess he's a goalie now.

Well then, Mr. Crysby, here's an idea, stay out of their paint!

God I wish someone would start thinking they're Billy Smith and start giving guys like this what for right across the skate laces. Or "D" that will move them out of there.

Either way, I'd be happy. :D

It was definitely a "Feel good" penalty.

It didn't make me feel good. It did nothing for us.

Now, had Miller socked Crosby in the mouth... :D

I loved that. If he had gotten up and started teeing off on Ruutu I would have gone absolutely nuts.

I wish Miller would act like he's Ed Belfour -- minus the public drunkenness -- and the next time someone enters the crease, use his stick on their "five hole".

They'll NEVER stray in it again . . .

Even better -- but, a longshot, given the "offensive defensemen" we seem to be reacquiring {Montador, Sekera, Myers} . . .

.
