"Brendan Burke, the youngest son of Toronto Maple Leafs president and general manager Brian Burke, died Friday as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident in Indiana."

As much of a hockey douche as Burkie is, thoughts are with him during this time.

Devastating...nothing could be worse than burying your child.

Very tragic. No one should have to bury their children. My thoughts are with Brian Burke and his family.......

This has made me feel very sad for Brian. My friend's daughter was hit and killed by a truck near Geneseo last year, actually fall 2008. The poor family are still in a lot of pain from that - a lot of pain........ :(

Most of the people here in London said he was here to watch Kadri play but then I here this after the game about his son and I highly doubt he was watching hockey tonight.

:( Poor Burke. I really hope everything will be alright for them.

I bet nothing is worse than losing a child.

The Burke family must be so devastated... so sudden, so definite, so cruel. Prayers going out to the Burke family in this time of surrow.

i saw phils facebook update on my bberry... after i found out what happened, i didnt feel like drinking anymore.

i always liked brian burke. i like his aggressive building of teams. i liked how he marched with his son in a rally. i like how his son came out, and i admired his courage. i admired everything about the burkes. this doesnt feel right. surreal. i wish nothing, and i mean nothing but closure, sympathy, and well being for the burkes. i wish nothing but the best of the best for brendon in whatever comes next for him in the afterlife. seriously, a tragic unfolding of events.

Not fair. Not fair at all.

He just publicly came out with who he really is, only to die... It seems that story plays out far too often, in different ways. People turn their lives around, are on the verge of either gaining everything back or gaining everything they never had in the first place, embrace who and what they are, only to die and leave their families in immense pain. It's never right.

I'll think of him often for a while.

Brian Burke has too many responsibilities to deal with this. My condolences. Burying your own child is horrible.
