Duff's are anything but run of the mill. I can see how you'd think such by looking at them, but their sauce is amazing. Much hotter than most places, yet you still can taste the chicken, and their house brew sets everything off perfectly.

Not to mention it's just WNY atmosphere. Not a lot of extras, looks like your typical local place. Anchor Bar to me, looks like a TGI friday's with good wings. Shit all over the walls, random memorabilia and such. Not really my scene...seems to insist upon its' self as a WNY Landmark, rather than just being there.

well of course, i said looks. but now, alot of places can replicate wings to taste similar to most others.

but, id probably argue that your chilidogs are nothing like our chilidogs at yesterdogs in grand rapids. its that whole, "its ours, and dammit, ours are better!" mantra, which, more often then not, is true.

FYI, i cant go back to yesterdogs anymore i have to wait outside

dude. you know that conscious thing you were talking about earlier? i completely lack one. my brain goes like this:

anyways, the place is a landmark. ironically, the guys who wrote american pie conceived the movie idea in yesterdog. so its famous. so the workers there are assholes, of course. one guy was making up line up at 2 am outside, allowing one person in at a time, screaming at us. this is february, so im cold, drunk, in a t-shirt, with a beer in my hand, being yelled at. so i threw the beer on the floor.

ok....ok..... so I've never tried either one of these wings, but I do LOVE my wings. The hotter the better. I have seen eating a wing, tears streaming down both cheeks, and fire breathing the words "Fuck these are good" as I shove another in my mouth.

In March when Don and I are down, I am SOOOOO going to have to try both. They both look very good in their own ways.... something else for the "List of things to do in Buffalo"
