there goes the division

Sabres still lead the division. We got a point, so even if the Sens win they will be tied with Buffalo. Having played one game less we will be in the lead.

The first tiebreaker is wins.

Which the Sens have.

That division is the only chance we really have in the playoffs too.
Being 4th/5th means facing the Pens/NJD

well, the loss sucks. first period sucks but the 2nd and 3rd are hopefully a good sign for things to come. They showed a lot of fight to come back in goals and physicality. Our tough guys, Rivet Mair and Goose actually decided to look tough again. While it's tough not to get a win again, hopefully it's a step back in the right direction.

I don't think so. Dallas and Anaheim each have 63 points. Anaheim has two more wins, but Dallas has played one fewer game and NHL.com lists Dallas ahead of the Ducks. The tie breaker for wins counts at the end of the season.

Over all, I'd rate this game as an A- as opposed to the last ones we've seen. Just my 2 cents.

I liked the muscle alot of guys showed tonight, guys were willing to knuckle up when needed. What I didn't like seeing though, was Myers going down at the end of the 3rd. That, and the NESN callers saying that, "Pies stuck the dagger in the cadavres that is the Buffalo Sabres!"

Good game for our boys over all, just lucked out in OT. Hopefully a different story in our next game.

Fuckin' shit...I almost threw the remote through the TV when we went down 2-0. At least the Sabres got a point to help me regain some sanity.

Ottawa has Washington on Thursday and Detroit on Saturday. We have Carolina Thursday and San Jose Saturday.

Let's see how things are looking by Sunday morning. Teams go through slumps, sometimes bad slumps, but that is why you have those wins in the bank, to get you through. Hopefully, we rebound in time for the playoffs. Right now, we are in a horse race with the Sens.

Good.

It will either make us a better team or we crumble, in which case we weren't going to do anthing in the second season anyway. Either way, we find out what kind of team we have this year.

I'm not looking through blue and gold glasses right now, not even beer goggles. I honestly think this team will be different after the break. Granted, Miller will need to be played in games few and far between for this feeling to be solidified, but the rest will do a lot of these guys good.

I seen a lot of good things in this game tonight. The fire the boys showed. Sure, we lost the game. But we showed up. We manned up and even when the B's big unit wouldn't toss knuckles, we didn't let up. Mair thru down (got split open in the cause but still), Goose was willing, Rivet tossed, the guys showed up. We just fell unlucky in the S/O. I still feel good about this game as we seen things we hadn't seen for a little while. We're not out of the playoffs and are still in the hunt here. Boys were moving their feet, still not happy with the pass up the middle shit, but they'll learn how to use the boards soon.

Next game will be different.

If it makes you feel better, take a look at the standings according to NHL.com:

http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm?se ... 0&type=DIV

We are still first place in the division.
