Ottawa won. Hahahahahaha, oh golly. What a mess this season has become. :(

If Myers has a broken jaw or something, this season is over. Our defense will flounder and Ottawa will spring past us.

I think it's time for a call to Portland. Mair KO'd with a busted nose and Kaleta out indefinitely leaves an already small and weak team even smaller and weaker. I'd bring up Mancari and see if he can keep up the hot play at the NHL level.

I totally agree I would like to see Mancari get another shot and see if he learned something from the last time he was up with the big club. I think he at least deserves another chance. Keep Gerbe and Ennis in Portland for the time being and let them still develop.

I just got home from work and seen that we lost! How did we play tonight? I also heard Myers got hurt tonight! Hopefully it's nothing serious because he's our best defenseman.

The Good: Miller was phenomenal. Team showed a lot more fight. Loss could help push for a trade to shake this mess up.

The Bad: Fell out of 1st place. Lost 5th game in a row. Miller again loses a shootout.

The Ugly: Myers' injury. Lose the Chosen One and kiss the whole fucking season goodbye.

We are still in first because we have played in less games than Ottawa.

Right now it doesn't matter. We've played less games so we have a superior points per game average than them, had we played the same number of games, they would win because more wins.

But we're still in first.

I know, but we're still in first place though. We have played in 58 games and we have 72 points, they have played in 60 games with 72 points.

That means we hold the tiebreaker right now, if we are tied at the end of the year, it goes to whoever has more wins, which will probably be them.

We're still in first in the NE, that is all I'm saying, you can't argue it, because we have a superior points percentage than them right now, so we are in first.

The Sabres are still 1st in the NE and IMHO I believe it will be a battle right to the 2nd last game for 1st in the NE. It will probably come down to the April 10th game in Ottawa. I predict the Sabres will win the their next 2 games (yes..i think they can beat the Sharks) and the Sens will win 2 of 3 to the start the Olympic break (yes..i think they will lose to the Caps). That puts the Sabres (60 games) and Sens (63 games) with 76 points each. The Sens with more wins (36) and the Sabres having played 3 fewer games. Tie breaker goes the the team who's played fewer games. Don't jump off the BW let folks....still lots of hockey left to play. Anything can happen.

haha rbochan, is that the horrible opener for the sens when they got swept in playoffs a few years ago? I was running on a treadmill taking a drink of water when I first saw that. I spit out my water and almost fell off the treadmill I was laughing so hard.

regarding last nights game, the sabres threw lotsa pucks at rask, and kept the shots against down. they didnt win, but miller bounced back, and they got a point. oh shucks, the lost in a shootout.

Image

so thats outta the way. lots of positives to take out of yesterdays game. but one dread for me, and its a biggy: rask is already a very good goalie. that guy is seriously going to be a top 5 goalie soon. his numbers, albeit in a more abbreviated season, eclipse millers. and we all know miller is having a veznia-like season.

You know your team is hurtin' when your rival's fans are trying to make you feel better.

That is how I used to get my digs in with the 'Canes fans. I would go to their web site and talk about how they were really much better than people think, and had lots of talent, and that I was sure they would rebound.

It made it all the sweeter when we then dominated them on the ice.

So, don't think I don't know what you are up to Sensfan.
:naughty:

;)

I'm confused, on the Sabres broadcast they said the Sens were in 1st place because of win percentage, but on NHL.com the Sabres are in 1st because they have a game in hand.

Whatever though...bottom line is that the Sabres better get their shit together.

Miller's GAA would probably be way better than Rask's if he only played in 27 games too.

I believe that end of season the first tiebreaker is wins because everyone's played the same number of games, but mid-season its GiH before wins.
