Rivet has been a warrior but he's simply worn down and slowed down by age and prior injury. That alone I don't think is justification to strip the C away. I'm fairly certain from what I've known and heard about him earlier in his career that he's a good leader off the ice. He'll still have the C until his contract runs out after next season. Then I think Gaustad should wear the C, and give Myers and Connolly an A (unless Darcy signs a real vet forward with a winning attitude).

I don't disagree on points made about not making Kaleta captain, I'm simply pointing out that if your basis is a guy that leads by example out on the ice, there isn't anyone that out-hustles Kaleta.

One thing to keep in mind, Carolina stripped the old and tired Brind'Amor of his captaincy last month and gave it to Stahl. Since that time they've been on fire. It can be done...

Andrew Peters was a great "leader off the ice" (letting Butler live with him, etc). As ETC said, Carolina did it, and it worked wonders. Not sure if that was the pivotal move, or the fact that they're *finally* healthy was more of an influencing factor, but I wouldn't mind seeing Goose run loose :P

I say give it back to Pominiville...I know this is like the 63rd time I've typed this, but Pommer's numbers went up big time when he was captain of March...
