A busy night around the NHL tonight. While the Sabres (#5, 73 pts.) play the Sharks (#1, 89 pts.) at HSBC, we also have:

Tampa Bay (#9, 63 pts.) @ NY Islanders (#13, 56 pts.)
Ottawa (#3, 74 pts.) @ Detroit (#10, 66 pts.) - one of four interconference games (including Sabres/Sharks)
Philadelphia (#6, 65 pts.) @ Montreal (#7, 64 pts.)
New Jersey (#2, 77 pts.) @ Carolina (#14, 53 pts.)
Boston (#8, 53 pts.) @ Florida (#12, 57 pts.)
Washington (#1, 89 pts.) @ St. Louis (#12, 63 pts.) - second interconference game
Dallas (#9, 66 pts.) @ Phoenix (#4, 79 pts.)
Atlanta (#10, 61 pts.) @ Chicago (#2, 83 pts.) - third interconference game
Anaheim (#11, 65 pts.) @ Calgary (#8, 67 pts.)
Colorado (#6, 76 pts.) @ Los Angeles (#5, 76 pts.)

Three of these head-to-head games will determine standings between the two teams tonight (Flyers/Habs, Ducks/Flames, and Avs/Kings).

What do you see as the upsets of the night?

I think the Canes could beat the Devils, but now that Kovie is starting to score, who knows.

Carolina beats the Devils and Atlanta beats Chicago.

Carolina has some swagger going on right now, and Atlanta, meh I just wanted to vote for them.

Second game of a home and home, with the end of last nights game being nasty, largely due to Spacho getting drilled from behind.

4 seconds into Philly and Montreal and O'Byrne and Laperriere go at it. Lapperriere landed a good one at the end to take the decision....

Interesting though, as the CBC boradcaster said Laperierre went after O'Byrne as he "was the only Canadian over 5'7" on the ice."

Still unclear if Spacho saw stars; or donuts after the hit.....

Philly 6 - 2 over Montreal with about 6 minutes left in the game.

Philly's talent is starting to show under Peter The Purple.

Briere with the hatty tonight.....

Anaheim up 1 - 0 on a Neidermeyer goal.

Watching kotalik for The Flames. Just a dumb player, in addition to being lazy. I was watching her skate one in on a pp, and admiring her skating, when she turned the puck over; really had no idea what to do with it. An ounce of brain, and an ounce of desire, and she's an all star. She has neither, and she's nowhere's near one.

All four of the games listed at the top could end in upsets.

Carolina and Dallas won, St. Louis is taking Washington to OT and Atlanta and Chicago are tied in the third.

Stajan and Hagman playing on a line with Iginla, and looking pretty good.

Glencross on a line change set ups Iginla for a 2 - 1 Flames lead.

Iginla again.

The trade looks good to me for Calgary, as it seems to have balanced their attack more.

Ian White is a good hockey player as well.

Calgary looks like a better team after that trade, to say the least. Much better balance.

Final 3 - 1 over The Ducks.

Getzlaf is sorely missed by The Ducks.

Late in the third, LA 3 - 0 over Colorado. Floater on the last King goal by Oscar Meyer Moller.
