That ceremony tonight was great. Love moments like that.

I, however, DO NOT want ANY players risking injury in very competitive play that has NO VALUE for the NHL season!!!

If anything happens to Miller, the Sabres should be allowed to have TWO guys in-net SIMULTANEOUSLY for the remainder of the season.

THAT would be a fair trade-off.

The way Lalime and Enroth have played for us so far this season; I'm not so sure about that! :P

We only have five, and it's fine.

The Olympics are a different story, I doubt goalies will get run without total beatdowns.

In a way, I do. It makes me good about my team. But I also don't, because I want them to get rest. So I'm good either way.

That's what she said....

The players want to participate, and it's good for the sport.

I enjoy it greatly.

hahaha. the olympics bore me. i enjoy league play. ive never watched olympic hockey. or the olympics in general.

and, food for thought. in 2006, hasek went down with an injury. hasek was having a GREAT season. i mean, late 90s great. if he doesnt get hurt, the sabres dont beat the sens in 06.

Some of the Olympic games over the years were the most entertaining hockey I've ever seen.

You're really missing out by dismissing it offhand.

they'd probably do what the koreans did in the olympic short track and run right into each other trying to make a save.

i revise my statement

no, i do not

I am a firm believer that the Olympics should be amateurs, and amateurs only.

therefore, being pros, they should not be allowed to participate

with the rules as they stand tho, im for it

If you were an NHL player and you were elected to represent your home country and bring in the greatest honor a country could have in hockey, would you turn it down because there is a chance you might get hurt?

If one of the Sabres, particularly Miller, gets hurt in the next 2 weeks, the tone in this thread will be markedly different.

Ryan Miller could blow an ACL in practice on Monday and be out for months.

As a Sabres fan, I would be crushed.

As a hockey fan, I would be crushed.

My opinion would still not change. The players want this. Who are we do decide if it's good for them or not?

That's not the answer to my question though. I know there would be chaos in Sabreland if Miller gets hurt. But if you personally were selected to play for your native country for gold, would you turn it down?

If Miller blows out his acl you will see regier do something like bring in Turco, or Marty. I wouldn't want a decent back up brought in that way, because even if we get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs you have to be in it to win it.

Yes. I love the Olympics and I love to see the NHLers represent their country, and I am proud of Ryan making it to the Olympic level and I think it's great that he's there.
