Do you celebrate it?

How are you spending it if you're single or hooked up?

Is it a tension-filled day of pressure and expectations?

Is it another opportunity to let someone know how important/special they are in your life?

Valentine's day is a very good day to make an impression on someone you're interested in, because all single women are just hoping that somebody's going to sweep em off their feet on this day.

That said, I'm not in love with anybody right now, so I'm spending Valentine's day with my hockey team tonight, seeing how we have a game at 8:15. :D

It's nice that the guys are weighing in here; how about some female insight/opinion?

;)

Well. Currently it's 3:20 in the afternoon, and I am still in my pajamas, if that tells you anything.

I plan on doing nothing. Yesterday was kind of the fun day... Staying all day at a friend's house and not eating any cafeteria food, having an unbirthday cake given to me randomly and blowing out the candles, going ice skating, getting milkshakes afterward... I guess if I did that today, I'd be celebrating Valentine's Day. :P

I've never not been single and don't plan on having that change probably ever. Have a feeling any relationship would end very badly given my lifelong propensity to entirely withdraw from people when I feel like I've shared too much. Yeah, not talking to a guy for weeks on end would be greeeaaat for a relationship...

Oh, but I did get two roses outside my door this morning, from a couple friends. I feel like this is the grade school Valentine's Day sort of thing that I didn't have because I was (preferably) homeschooled.

There's someone for everybody ATL (except of course me  ), and there have been many times I had wished my SO would not talk to me for a couple of weeks :D .

Happy V Day to all, and yes it is a gimmick to stimulate the economy and make people feel inadequate. That thick WNY skin comes in handy at times like these!!

It's 4:15pm, I'm hammered, and watching the Daytona 500

That's all that matters to me on February 14th 2010

My g/f of almost 2 years broke up with me a month ago...I'll be alone. I did take her best friend out to Olive Garden last night though.

Missy and I spent our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY eating brunch at Towne and then root beer floats at Sweet Tooth, getting piercings together at Cowpok (me, my septum and her, her conch), going to Spiral Scratch on Delaware to buy some records and CDs, going to Rotary Rink at Fountain Plaza to go ice skating (my first time ever! I only fell once!), then to dinner at Casa di Pizza. Now we're sitting here listening to music and bein Sabres Junkies :)

I have pretty much always hated the day, single or not. I'll make jokes about flowers but don't expect them. It's just an excuse to spend money. Why do you have to dedicate a single day to showing someone you care about them, you should do it all along.

With that said, the only reason I 'celebrated' today was because it's my anniversary. :)

I think Valentine's Day is a cute holiday but I don't expect anyone to bend over backwards for me to try and make it the most amazingly romantic day of my life. To me, it's just another day, but it's also cute to have a special day set aside for lovers!

Honestly, I miss Valentine's Day in elementary school when you delivered Valentines to all of your classmates and you ate cupcakes and had heart shaped suckers. Yeah, those were the days.

I say we don't need a single day to show the person you love that you love them.

Everyday should be that.

But how about Single's Awareness Day?

Who celebrates that with me right now?
