The contentious climate change debate aside, it is clear that human beings have the potential to seriously screw up large portions of the environment, from the Cuyahoga to Onondaga Lake, to the Hudson, etc.

So ignoring any climate change rhetoric and BS, what are the responsibilities of developed nations, and human beings in general when it comes to caring for the environment?

Passing laws and enforcing them to keep chemicals from being dumped thoughtlessly is a good start. Tap into the ingenuity and creativity of the human spirit to come up with ways to clean up those places already polluted.

And get over CO2.

An interesting little aside to some of this discussion regarding dangerous chemicals in the environment.

As we advance, our ability to detect traces of dangerous chemicals in the environment exponentially increases. Certainly it's frightening to find out there might be traces of poison in your water, air, etc. even if it's an amount that is less than a percentage point of what would actually harm a human being.

It was an interesting talking point in Human Exposure Analysis, my favorite class, or as I dubbed it "Everything You Touch is Killing You Slowly."

There are answers CV, they cost alot of money. I could show you things that would blow your mind, some of it cutting edge, some of it has been around for a while.

Its all about cost at the end of the day. There are ways to do things, and there are environmentally friendly systems from multiple industry fields coming, it just takes time is all.
