Any Apolo Ohno fans?
Apolo blew through two rounds of qualifiers tonight. The first, from last place to first in 12 seconds. The second, from 5th, to 3rd, to 2nd to qualify for the medal round. After he got wiped out 4 years go, I hope he gets what he deserves this time around.

Ohno got lucky that the Korean got greedy and made that shitty pass.

That being said, the Koreans skate dirty, so it could be karma. :)

Stephen Colbert has greatly increased my interest in this sport.

Short track speed skating = NASCAR on ice. It's very interesting, unlike NASCAR. :)

Those skates they wear are nuts though. I tried a pair on once, quite odd.

You're not kidding! Korean should be plural though. One was in the lead, Ohno was coming up in second, when two more Koreans put it in turbo mode ;) and took 1st, 2nd, and 3th until they wiped each other out. I was happy Ohno medaled silver and that younger kid from the US took 3rd. I forget his name, but he nearly bled out in a nasty skating accident last August and thought he'd never skate again.

Would have been great if the Korean who took the gold got DQ'd...ha ha would have loved it.

Sucked that are American guys shit the bed in th 1500. I have a huge crush on Elli Ochowicz...she's not a medal contender but I don't care.

I don't think it was lucky...I think that's just short track skating...push too hard and you wipe out. I like Ohno and I really thought it was awesome that the kid (JR) got bronze along side his hero (Ohno). I don't know what I'd be happier about if I were him, winning an olympic medal or winning it along side my idol.

"VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- After a night that resembled an action movie, a night when he fought off two South Koreans who knocked each other out, and then clutched the American flag, Apolo Anton Ohno said he was cleansed and free."

I mean, having the most medals in Winter Olympic history for an American is cool. But I feel that Bonnie Blair's and Eric Heiden's achievements totally exceed Apolo. If he earns more golds than maybe...

At 13 years old, I think this was the first time I'd seen a man with legs like his in spandex.

I watched the long track speed skating 1500m and the Japanese, Korenas and Chinese are all freaking fast but they all suck at hockey ;)
