He'd be a great asset to a team in need of some veteran leadership, and he would make one hell of a mentor to some young players.

He isn't the Same Jagr that scored 149 points, but he could easily be a 70 point guy in the NHL still.

Heck, he would do wonders for Vanek's game if we got him, but I wouldn't doubt it if he gets on an NHL team he plays third line minutes more as a mentor then anything.

I would love to have him play third line mentor.

I don't think he'd come back if he could only get 3rd line minutes. He probably believes he can be a 1st/2nd liner.

I was saying it because he knows his age and how he still can play and in all honesty they told him for the Czech team that they aren't relying on him to win games, yet he went out and proved to everyone he still has it and they could count on him to help them win.

Realistically the team who gets him won't have him on the first line, and maybe the second line, third for sure if he isn't on second line.

Yeah and he did didly squat. Jagr should just stay in the Russia wreck league, it suits his play.

and it wasnt close to a point per game. it was like 1.33 points per game. in 05-06 is the only season after retirement he wasnt a point per game player, and that was for like, 8 games.

Mario had like 3 seasons I think when he wasn't a PPG player anyways.

It's not like it matter for him anyways, he is one of the greatest to ever lace up and play the sport.

Ya, but the topic has become what could a returning star be?

My opinion is he could be huge. Jagr could be a difference maker like Forsberg or the such. I think this 3rd line crap is for the birds. no offense.

Well I guess so also, but you never know really. Especially considering his age, but he has the talent and ability to still be a top line player on every team. Unless he joined the Capitals I doubt he'd play with Ovechkin.

Or if Pittsburgh got him, he would most likely be promoted straight to a line with Crosby since the Pens don't have a huge winger to rely on.

If Jagr went to PIT and we saw Jagr Crosby and Guerin as a line I wuld stop watching untill someone other than Pitt won the cup.

I think Jagr at the stage in his career he's at, his age, the wear and tear... he'd still be able to crack our top line! Granted, I absolutely hated him with a passion back in the day. After seeing him in these Olympics have given me a different view. He's out there working hard and you can tell he still loves to compete. Something we could use in Buffalo. And, he's got some size and apparently knows how to use it now. For the right price I'd take him.

THN just did an article on Jagr and they mentioned how the smaller ice suits Jagr better.

If someone signs him this season he would be subject to waivers, so that's not happening.
