Every once in a while a team comes around to remind you this game is ALL IN YOUR HEART. It's not just a group of skilled players. !980 and 2008 are good examples. Funny how a guy like Chris Drury(insert shit talk here) can play at a WORLD CLASS LEVEL.

If you still don't understand this point, go back to the drawing board.

Drury brings intangibles to Team USA for sure, great penalty killer, great defensive player, and a player to count on when you're down by one with 10 seconds to go.

Drury may not be the most skilled center but what he brings is needed for Team USA and such. Burke did a fantastic job at putting together this team.

Let's not anoint this team yet...good win for sure, but still a long, hard road left.

No horn tooting here, just a good example how heart wins games.

Is this the same Drury we wouldn't take for a bag of pucks before tonight's goal?

We're not talking contracts tonight. The Olympics understand the easier, more fun day of hockey.

I'll stand up and say I was a critic of the Drury selection. He certainly played a solid game last night, and I was happy that he got the goal. It was biggest goal of the game, imo. Let's not get too romantic about it though. The fact is, that game was going to bring out the best effort of any player on the ice. Matt Cullen would have been doing everything but cut a testicle off, just as Drury and the rest of the team did.

I do think it's telling that the old guys scored the big goals (Rafalski, Langenbrunner, Drury), but there are still one or two players that would bring more talent to the ice than Drury right now. Is that what the team needs? I don't know, they are playing better than I expected. Either way I'm happy for Drury. I'm not going to be some grudging critic after the fact. I want the team to win badly, and that means everyone including Drury to play well and make big plays.
