Taking advantage of the bye earned by the Millercle on Ice and Team Canada getting Rafalski'd, the United States will take on Switzerland at 3PM EST on NBC in the quarterfinal round.

Winner moves on...loser goes home.

Once again, we must ask ourselves...
Do you believe in Millercles? YES!

It's gonna be a blow out against tired Switzerland. Swiss goalies are like swiss cheese, they come with holes.

Burkie is pulling a Herb Brooks on the boys, keeping them paranoid, or so Ryan Miller thinks.

I like that Burke and Wilson are making them keep their heads small. No inflated egos until AFTER a medal is won.

I've watched Hiller play two games this tournament, against the US and Canada. He was excellent in both and prevented his team from losing worse than they did.

This game will be no walk-over. La Suisse has nothing to lose. Rien a perdue. However you say that in German. The US ought to win, but like Boomer says, that's why they play the game.

Let's get this straight; The US winning this tournament would be NO miracle, as the 1980 team of amateurs winning was.

Upset winner? Probably, especially as we have a lot of new players relative to The Olympics and International competition.

Regardless; it would be an epic win, and will put some additional (and needed) media focus on hockey in the US!

Let's go USA!

Yea, if the US wins it all, it would be a ridiculous upset, considering most hockey brains had us at 6th or worse.

I have a feeling that you have the 24 hour flu,

Yea. I mean, Laura, you don't look so good. You shouldn't over-exert yourself. Here, snuggle up on the couch - I'll get you the remote, popcorn, and a Team USA scarf ;)

So glad I don't have to work for this game.

I can't wait for it and I hope my lab tomorrow doesn't last too long, because I really want to watch all of this game.

Exactly. First comments I heard from Burkie after Canada were complaints that only 10 or 11 guys showed up, and they needed everyone to be on board.

He's playing that card to perfection.

We just got a public apology from JR admitting he was dead wrong by saying that Drury should not have been selected to this team. lol. His colleague said, "I thought I'd never see the day".

Good stuff.

He already apologized for his comments online, actually.

Well, he looked straight into the camera, seemed sincere(with no JR charm even), and did it again.

I guess the guy can say whatever he wants from now on, and it's ok with me. I'll listen to anyone who can admit when there wrong.

Work and then bowling, will not be able to watch any of this game unless I can get the bowling alley to turn it on which...well...this is Syracuse.
