i joined a week or two before the brawl game against Ottawa.

I was warned in my very first post. It was about possibly nicknames for heatley. Figure that one out on your own, haha.

What I really remember were the game day chats. I remember talking to Beth and Caro first because women on the internet are rarer than pokemon in real life. Then I got acquainted with Ariel, Phil and Jay and AlexKn. The people I talked to regularly doubled or tripled after I went to my first meet and greet including Mel, Laura, Schony, Dan and others I'm forgetting.

I still talk to all of the mentioned pretty often in addition to Mike, PSP, Jael and Melly.

Mach and RickMartinrules came on around the gutter time. Mach could be long winded, but wrote well and informed posts. He dramatically announced his departure at least twice; only to return both times. Seems out of character for him to have dropped out quietly this time around.....

Feret and Chimp posting non-stop invective was my first memory. I firmly believe that the message board world ever has and never will see anything to match the perpetual rage of the Chimp, who in every single post, regardless of topic, had at least 3 strings of $%&&#!!

I joined about a week after the Drury and Briere fiasco. My first post was a post to Mach because he said something about championships and crap and I rebutted it.

I stuck around and wound up getting kinda close to Schony. I remember alexkn and such and I got into some heated discussions with him about my posting habits about Beth and them and how I was like being a complete sexual predator and making everyone feel uncomfortable because I told the few girls how great looking they were.

The lounge and forum game threads of the past were always great fun and such. I'm terrible with remembering names though but we all knew who the regulars of the GDT's were, and Schony always invited me into the GDC on AIM with us, it was always a blast with them.

I never hated ferret or the chimp really and mainly it was I never ventured into political topics.

But there weren't many who knew more about the history of hockey like good ole ferret did.

I've always been a backseat forumer. I enjoyed reading, but I didn't post much back then. When I did start posting a lot more I chatted a lot with Caro, Beth, Phil, Dan, Ariel, Alex among many others. If I could take back myself being a stupid dumbass, I would. I remember DaveyJoe and Bill Schulz, and I'm sorry I wasn't very noticeable back then. I regret being shy to begin with.

Davey Joe, MikeInAlbque, ferret..... I have fond memories of them as well. I shared some e-mails with Mike and ferret on more than one occasion. Both got themselves in a rut, and became villified for it. Both good eggs at heart; but yeah, they seemed to become more caustic as time went on.

Chimp used to be knucklesandwich - honestly I didn't have a problem with him back then. Never seemed that bad. Although before the addition of moderators (sometime around the brawl I think) the boards weren't too civilized as they were.

Mike was so over-the-top raging he amused me in a way, while Ferret was just so jaded and humorless about everything it could get annoying. I really have nothing personal against either of them, though.

From a hockey perspective, I tended to agree with Mike, but outside of that we could not have been more different. Meanwhile, Ferret and I often agreed on politics, but not much of anything else, including hockey.

When I first joined Mike was actually going by the name Knucklesandwich I believe.

i remember the chimp kept parroting something that annoyed me, so one day, i posted a picture of the common "jack-off motion." he responded "touche" and thats when i was all.. maybe hes not so bad.
