I have a church function at noon, hair to do at 1, but she's a TALKER, so I hope I can escape from there by two, stop in the store to buy some peanuts and diet pepsi for the hubby, put on the kettle for tea and be ready, crochet hook in hand, butt in recliner by 3. (trust me, I had my party animal days round about 1984 - 88) The kids have been walkign home by themselves from school since my car died, so they're covered. I think I'm good.

nnyfan - I like hearing how you have everything all figured out. We were probably partying together in the 80's, and I think we're running at the same speed now. It's the usual strong coffee for me today.

Howie & ETC - Yup. Nothing will ever compare to 1980, and it's blasphemy to try. The evil USSR days had to be experience to truly understand. However . . . It would be MILLERACULOUS, especially for us Sabres fans!!!

Wow, everyone having to work today is really looking flu-ish. Go home. (However, I will have to stay here at work, to man the fort which is deserted but for me, despite me scarfing down antibiotics and Sudafed for a sinus infection.)

Do a throat culture. Even if you are not sick you will still grow some bacteria which you can show your professor/ boss. If they are not microbiologist, they will have no idea whether what is growing is normal flora or pathogenic. all you really need is a dish, say jello (nutrients), a culture, and somewhere you can keep the temperature near body temperature (for optimal growth). If none of that works for you then try to get the notes from a friend, for the working one, try to find a replacement then call in sick. Or if you need the money go to work, and if you feel the class important go to class.

Well, I'm supposed to be going to my International Studies class at 3, but I found the smallest excuse to skip it...and so I am. ("Oh no, I have to get gas, and I won't have time to get it because I need to find a place to park, and I'll be late for class...guess I just won't go!)
