NBC is going to get their rating wish. Canada is going to have to go through russia to get another shot at the americans, thanks to the swedes not scoring enough to knock the US out of the first seed. Malkin vs Crosby, Crosby vs Ovechkin. that just screams ratings. of course that is if canada can get past germany. Canada can end up playing sweden as well.

luongo will be canadas starter from here on out. playing canada again just got scary.

Even with Luongo, I'm not sure Canada gets by Russia. The Russian team is playing much better than I expected. Canada better bring their game, because you know Russia will.

The Russian's aren't scoring as much as they should, but their defensive play is really tight and Nabakov is playing out of his mind for them.

I'm not sure how a defensive squad with Kalinin on it is so good, but they are.

I think Russia is actually underachieving...not unlike Canada. They struggled with the Czechs and lost to the Slovaks despite having a star studded lineup featuring the best player in the world.

Well I hope the Russians take it to Team Canada...then again, I don't want the dipshit KHL fans to think their league is more superior either. WHAT TO DO?!?!?

Los, it's lose-lose for Canada if they get eliminated by Russia...I mean, they won't have ANYONE to root for if USA-Russia is the gold medal game

the RSL has always been just a smudge behind the NHL in talent. they certainly deserve a high flight league, i just dont feel its up to par with the NHL.

If Canada loses that game, I'm pretty sure that they'll Queen Liz and offer her the country back. :)

Of course it's not up to par with the NHL, the KHL is still a damn good league, but the NHL still has the most talent in the world playing in it.

id say the RSL (i like the sound of that more then the KHL) is just a shade under in terms of talent. but the rest of it is minor league. the facilities for the most part are very sub par and small.

The players, maybe so. But I know one Canadian and insane hockey fan that will cover himself in the red, white and blue should it come down to the States VS The Robots :D

P.S.

I agree with the posting of this topic. Brodeur = exposed douche.

As long as Ryan Miller is Team USA's goalie, I can sense a little slice of The American Dream in Antigonish ;)

You and I must be the only ones watching the Olympics ETC. Russia loses to Slovakia and we lose to Ryan Miller and everyone thinks the Russians are better. Canada has been dominating and not capitalizing. Wasn't the case tonight though.
