And that's all she wrote. Russia's not coming back from a five goal gap.

You're putting in Bryzgalov now? Wow.

lol it's funny to hear the Russian announcers say Niedermayer's name. They say it so slow

When I saw the lineup, I stressed that besides the likes of players like Datsyuk, who are awesome on defense, Russia doesn't have many complete players. And on defense.... Kalinin? What?

This isn't olympic sized ice. You have to earn your space, and Russia did not do that well.

A North American powerhouse will win the gold, on North American ice, and we should be PROUD of that fact.

Time wise, this game seems so much slower than the USA game earlier.

This isn't even a game anymore, 7-3 though.

oh lord. what about sweden? you know, the defending gold medalists? or finland? the whole north american ice/international ice isnt THAT big a difference. its not an arena football team taking on a CFL team. its still hockey, and these players can adjust.

I think I've officially come to the conclusion that although I want Canada to absolutely destroy and demoralize the Russians, I want the US to win gold. For the plain and simple reason, our Miller has worked his god damn arse off to prove to the world he is a world class goalie and he has (in many games this season) single handedly won games for our Sabres. He deserves the gold. Also, a Ryan Miller with a major winning attitude going back to the NHL after the Olympics can only mean good things for the Sabres and should make others in the locker room recognize that when he plays, he plays to win. Defeat is not an option. In turn, it should make others raise their work level and commitment to this team.

At least, I hope this is the case! :?

Yes and no. I think Markus makes a good point.

We'll see how the rest of this game, and others, end up playing out.
