Just pulled this album out... today. Been listening to it on repeat. This has to be one of the greatest debut albums ever. Nobody else I know has heard of her. "Fast Car" was a pretty big hit at the end of the '80s, though...

So glad I brought all my CDs back with me after break. I still desperately miss the ones I broke in a moment of fickleness about five years ago... I plan on buying them again over the summer. Stupid, stupid. For me, nothing can replace having hard copies of music. I love MP3's, but still gotta have my albums.

About Brendon Small's vocal abilities...since they released the Dethalbum II, he's broken out of the framework of the Nathan Explosion voice and actually let himself do the vocal work (if that makes any sense...it does to me). It's a big improvement over the vocal work on Dethalbum, IMO.

Black Fire Upon Us - Dethklok (this song makes me think of what the soundtrack in a possible "Demon Temple" would sound like in a Zelda game...and we all know the soundtracks in the series are pretty epic)
