So true. The most we got busted for was passing notes in class. No matter how bad they were, they weren't plastered on the Internet for the whole world to see :o

Because we actually have the internet to plaster them for the world to see.

I'm sorry Schony. I still love you even though I'm young enough to be your kid.

At least we can remember the very first time we ever used the internet, or even a computer. :D

Children today cannot.

I don't really remember actually, all I know is it was sometime between Windows 95, and Windows 98.

And most likely when my mom was still in College classes.

And I do remember our first PC actually, we got it in 2000.

It's a good thing there was no Internet when I was high school age. I'd most likely still be grounded  :shhh:

I think we skipped ME and went from 98 to XP. I don't know why we did that, though I believe the XP correlated with getting a new computer, sooo probably it's 'cause of money.

My first PC was an ancient model with a 486 in it. I remember playing Nightmare on Elm Street off a floppy, and installing a shareware of Castle Wolfenstein 3D. Oh, the memories.

Good thing too, ME sucked monkey balls and XP is and was way better.

Our neighbors had an older computer. I don't know exactly what it was, but we used to play that asteroid game on it off one of those huge floppies, and it was basic MS DOS, had to type in every command.

The day they upgraded to Carmen Sandiego on a regular floppy disc was a big day.

Hmm...first computer? Bought it in 1996 - it was an Incus, which was Stereo Advantage's house brand. Had an original Pentium processor somewhere in the 100-200 mhz range, which was pretty good at the time. 8 mb of RAM and a 1 GB hard drive, plus a CD-ROM drive. Ran Windows 95 and cost well over $800 at the time. When we got our next computer - Pentium III with a 20 GB hard drive and 128 mb of RAM running Windows 98, I wondered why anyone would ever want anything faster.

And that's relatively new by the standards of some people on here.

I know my mom's first computer was an HP Legend (sheesh) and my dad was using derelict green-font-on-green-screen monitors while he was working at Marine Midland Tower (yeah, that back in the day) as a DBA.

Lord, my family has had some old computers.

DOS 6.22 was the best thing since sliced bread.

I still have Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 installers. ON FLOPPY.

I installed BBS software onto a computer just so I could cheat at LotRD.

TURBO BUTTONS!!!

My dad had an Amiga since before I was born, so I got to play classics like Barney Bear on the gigantic floppies growing up. It was such a shocker when he brought home a pc and I had to learn how to actually shut down the computer instead of just flicking a switch. To this day, part of me wants to just flip it off out of habit

my cousin had an apple and we would play frogger on it, while making banners that said "MIKES ROOM!" on 16 sheets of paper that were all attached.

That's titty bang, I think, and I don't think I have to explain that to you. V-card is someone's virginity.

Generation gap, man.

Should we explain CBT and other lovely fetish terms?

Phil likes it. ;)
There are entire blog/websites devoted to this.

::horrified::

My first computer was some clunky Mac. I used to draw pictures in the paint program, but it was only in black and white.

Good times.

Atari games and early computer games are basically the same.

Even that asteroid game I mentioned earlier was originally an Atari game which they then decided would be awesome to put on those huge floppy disks, apparently. It makes sense, though. The generation that grew up with Atari was beginning to be in charge, so to speak, at the time. It's like the resurgence of a lot of things '80s the past few years. Not a coincidence. In another few years, it'll be the '90s. People always think their generation and the things they experienced as a child were the best.

Objectively, I think the '80s was the best decade to be a kid, looking at the past century.
