ETC you make me sick. I think you should just become a Leafs fan and be apart of Burke's belligerent, truculent and pugnacious system. That will quench your thirst for a hitting team.
Everytime the Sabres lose I know I'll have to read your bullshit. A title most likely saying 'No Heart', 'Gutless' or 'Softies'. I challenge you to write a thread that congratulates a Sabres win. Can't do it can ya? You'll simply malfunction by the sight of positive words.
Haha relax. He's right to an extent. Maybe not as far as he's taken it, but anytime your goaltender gets run and the reaction is mild, it'll raise questions.
Sometimes, you have to remember that everyone here wants the same thing for the Sabres; and that's a Stanley Cup. ETC believes that there's an issue that needs to be addressed in order for that dream to become a reality. He may be right.
I don't think the whole roster needs an overhaul. I think a 1-2 player swing would do the trick with the right people going out, and the right people coming in.
I think that there are other factors involved in the reaction that prevented the game from blowing up. If the Sabres are down 4-0 in that game, the reaction to that play would have been very different.
But when you struggle to beat a team who is on top of their game and chasing you in the standings, you don't want to give them any power plays or opportunities to take control.
I know some people are upset that Myers was the one to address the situation, but realistically, who better than him? He's the biggest guy on our team, and that
will be a huge part of his role as a Sabre.
Do people overreact to stretches like this? Absolutely. They happen to all teams.
Does it mean that it isn't a good idea to observe what's going on in these stretches and draw conclusions about the team? Not necessarily. Your weaknesses show better when things aren't going your way.
That said, I'm not worried about it. Darcy has made a trade deadline deal in 9 out of the past 10 seasons. Sometimes they're good, sometimes they're alright. But they've never actually hurt the team.
Lets just take a deep breath, look at the big picture, and get through this stretch so we can move on to greener pastures.
