I agree its a little trashy but of all the trashy plays its like the least trash. If Boyle wanted to he could have done a lot worse. Don't know why he did it though Semin caught him with a clean hit.

Boyle is scum of the earth and should never have been selected to be a part of this team. I've never liked him and that goes back way before the Olympics. Stick or not, he did slew foot him and you're right PSP, you can seriously hurt someone like that. In most cases, they're not anticipating being taken down from behind and when trying to stay on their feet, they can strain a lot of muscles and risk breaking legs/arms by the trip should they hit the ice awkwardly.

I only wanted this win against the Russians. From here on out, I don't care what happens to the team. Should it come down to USA vs CAN for the gold, just the same as the last game, I'll hope to witness one hell of a game!

I don't want to burst any bubbles; but we didn't kick Canada's ass the first meeting. We were opportunistic, and received great goaltending. We played well, and Canada didn't. We played a good "road game", and came out on top.

That is all. I root as hard for The US as anyone; but I'm not going to overstate things in regard to abilities and performances.

No one would be happier if The US won The Gold than me. The Media coverage would put the sport in the spotlight. What the long term effect would be is speculitive; but the 1980 Gold led to some good years for The NHL...

Heard about it or not, had I seen it, I would have criticized it as a dirty play.

It was a shitty play, through and through. Defending Boyle is just mind boggling.

Regarding the fighting, you're tossed from the game and suspended for your next one should you engage in a fight during IIHF championship play.

I agree Boyle should get suspended but I really can't blame him for doing that to Semin. The hit Semin did was not bad but it was uncalled for at that stage of the game.

I never saw the 1st or 2nd periods but from what I saw in the 3rd is that OV the douche was invisible.
