Tallinder won't be moved unless it's part of a package deal for a big long-term player. He and Myers are too big a part of this team, even if it doesn't go far in the playoffs, to move him for a pick.

Lydman will probably be moved for a pick, and Weber may be brought up to replace him. With eight d-men there may not be a need to bring Weber up if Sekera and Paetsch share fill-in duties. Yes the team would be weaker but probably not weak enough to justify losing Lydman for nothing. IMO Lydman hasn't been that good lately, so replacing him with Weber (if that turns out to be the best option) isn't much of a drop.

Paetsch probably has no value at all, but Sekera is my favorite trade bait player. If Sekera can be packaged with picks/prospects/MacArthur for a scoring forward I'd be pretty happy, but I don't expect it. Darcy most likely views next season as a better chance for the Cup than this season, but questions about the d-corps need to be answered first. There will have to be at least one FA signing on the blueline, so younger players like Sekera and Weber will probably need to stick around without knowing who can be signed during the summer. Next year I expect...

That doesn't look too great unless 1) Weber is as good as he looks in Portland and 2) the FA signing is a significant upgrade with PP skills. That's a lot of questions to be trading Sekera away right now.

Zidlicky seems possible though if you look for OFD.

And lets see if regier is planning on using a lot of portland's defense that might mean that his focus is defense this season in the draft, though i'd rather he not select base on need. and go for talent.

i could see darcy trading lydman or maybe tallinder at the deadline for picks...he seemed awfully proud that the campbell trade landed them ennis....i don't think he is going to make a big move that will help us make a run this year....maybe next year he will

How he's played together with Myers so far this season, I'd hate to see Tallinder moved. Then again, there isn't much to bank on that he continues with this play if he were to be resigned. I think if his asking price wasn't too high, I'd resign him to an extention and make him earn his keep. Then again, how he has played this season could increase his return, should a trade before the March 3rd deadline be of interest with other GM's around the league.

I imagine they'll all be doing some form of scouting. Whether it be the farm boys or an intriguing prospect you feel you have a chance at. These GM's don't get a two week vacay like the players.

Dude he was paired with Chara for a little while on the Slovakian team.

Every mistake he made on D was made up for, plus he's got incredible upside on offense.

Plus, that would be an amazing offensive D-pairing. On the downside, Hank might flop playing with Montador. Lose confidence in his partner, make more mistakes himself, become old Hank. That would suck.

I agree I would unload both of them or at least try to package either one with someone else to get something in return. I don't like losing players for nothing.

I think we should meld Tallinder and Lydman like a Dark Archon and play Sekara.
