Wish I had a chance to see this today. Ah well, I'm sure everyone here will be flooding the boards with how he looked, what he said, what gum he was chewing etc. But seriously, I think it's awesome that Miller is getting the recognition he damn well deserves!!! Also, it's selling the Sabres brand to more fans! And we all know; you can never go wrong with Fans ;)

As for Crosby, well, he may very well be the kind of person who doesn't like the limelight. He may wish to just shy away from it and live a simple life and be a humble person. Fact of the matter is though; the kid has skill, it's been recognized and exposed all around the world (more than we'd like) so it kind of comes with the territory of being a superstar. Getting out and being one of the faces of this game. Not sure if Gretzky enjoyed all the publicity stunts when he was sold to L.A. gaining more media exposure but he made the appearances. Mind you, he was paid well for his services but I think the Great One would have loved to shy away from it.

Just sayin..

Ryan did a great job on Today! It's so funny because he just doesn't come off as a "celebrity" when you talk to him, but he obviously realizes that he is and he does such a good job with it. I'm happy for him. :)

I think its good for the NHL and more importantly the Sabres. Whenever you hear Ryan Miller in an interview he always says what a great city buffalo is and how great of fans we have there. He really loves Buffalo and everything with it.

there is a way to do it so you dont end up like Crosby.

Errrr, but why would he do that? He's the face of the NHL and he knows that. It's part of his responsibility to promote the NHL, especially in the States. But whatever, I'd much rather see Ryan on the Today Show than Sidney.

The NHL recognizes him as the face of the NHL. The fans think of him as a whining cry baby shit bag, other than Canadians and Pens fans. Ovechkin > Crosby

But on to Miller, this is great. Maybe Darcy will have to make some good moves now he sees the Sabres will get huge recognition not only from the Olympics but from the today show and other things.

The sabres led all NHL jersey sales in 06-07, they've gotten major recognition before.

Miller is keeping us updated on his media tour through the Sabres' Twitter... I wonder if there will be a place to watch/read/listen to all of his other interviews? He did interviews with the Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, VH1, and he "played DJ" on Sirius radio. I want to hear that one haha.

Anyone in New York City right now?

All the Sabres are running around the big apple while Miller does his media stuff on their day off.

I thought I heard on WGR that the rest of the team flew home, and only Miller stayed in the city.

Oh. Could be. I guess I was just assuming.

I also thought we had a road game in Dallas on Wednesday, but it's home.

I love this quote....it's going in my sig :D

Quote:
“I’m trying to roll with it, because it seems like that’s what is necessary to grow the game and help our league out,” Miller said. “I’ll open up a little bit if it helps.”

There are people still not sold on Miller as a franchise goaltender. My company president is one of them.
