Well, first let me say why I am now a Sabres fan. It's because they have the most starting American players, a consistent coaching staff, and in this day and age it's really easy to root for any team anywhere in the world. Need fellow fans to share your thoughts with? Done. Need to watch every game they play? Got that too with NHL Center Ice. I have to admit, I don't know a great many details about the Sabres this season but as a hardcore hockey fan I have always kept an eye on them.
I've been a Pens fan for 23 years, but I've grown disenchanted. I don't want to bash them because the bottom line is that franchise has provided me with a fun healthy diversion from everyday life. And I'll always have found memories. I'm changing teams now because they have everything going for them for once. A great team, good trustworthy owners, a new rink, and a bright future. So, it doesn't feel like I'm being a fair weather fan at all, because I'm not. In fact, on paper I don't think the Sabres or many other teams have much of a chance vs. the Pens in a best of seven.
I'm gonna root against them because I need a change. I am a little tired of all the talk around here being how so many great players in the league are not named Sidney Crosby. I like Malkin, Ovechkin, and many other players, as well as the game itself! But mostly all you hear about around here is Sid. I'm not switching just because of Crosby, in fact I'm still a big fan of his game and he is just such a classy person off the ice. A lot of fans I suspect don't realize what a good person he is for the community, he's not a brat off the ice like he appears to be on it sometimes. I just need my NHL fan batteries recharged. The olympics got me thinking about what hockey means to me and what's important to me. US hockey means more to me then the city I live in.
I could go on and on about the switch but it's too much to type all at once.
If you guys need to know anything about the Pens from power play tendencies to off ice issues just ask! I consider myself a know it all about the Penguins.

Yep that was me! Thanks for the link to here, this board seems MUCH better then the main one. Reminds me of letsgopens.com which has been the best Pens board since the internet became a part of my daily life.
