Dude, I'm trying to be nice, but that statement is just wrong.

They're both very reliable, solid defenseman. And reliable, solid defensemen are extremely hard to come by.

Especially when they are second and 4th in D scoring.

I drop Lydman and Tallinder.
Pick up Kaberle for his current contract for the year.
I bring up Weber to replace Lydman.

My line up:
Myers/Kaberle
Rivet/Butler
Montador/Sekera-Weber

Gragnani should be ready in another season. At the end of next season, resign Kaberle to a 3 year deal and say goodbye to Montador and Rivet, hello Gragnani, if no Grags, then some one else.

No?

Kaberle is an older, slower, less talented version of Tyler Myers and apparently a pathetic shell of a man compared to his former successes.

Do not want for $4,000,000. Rivet is overpaid as it is, and he ought to be on the way out already. Don't need to add another defenseman like that.

Hm. I make a statement, people disagree. Yet when I disagree with a statement people cry.

I don't know if you noticed, but from what I can tell you generally take an unpopular stance on topics. Doing so, and stating this unpopular stance on a public forum (especially a passioniate one like just about any sports team-based forum) is bound to cause people to cry (a.k.a, further discussing your unpopular stance in a somewhat hostile fashion).

Buffalo was confirmed as 1 of 3 teams on his trade deadline list if he were to waive his NTC. Does Darcy go get him this off season?

Thoughts?

God I hope so. With tallinder and Lydman probably both leaving and us having cap space to fill, this would be an amazing addition. (Mancari for Kaberle FTW)

Kaberle, win. Sleshlund, fail.

We're going to need defensemen. Re-sign Hank, and get Kaberle. Loods is a fan favorite, and is good when he's on his game, but he's just a guy I want gone. Rivet and Montador, too. In fact, I'd keep Loods before either of them.

Winner.

I'm really not very high on Kaberle.

There's been drama and rumors about Kaberle leaving Toronto since the late 90's when he first started playing there. It's all been bullshit, and frankly I tend to ignore all the stuff that comes out because it NEVER happens.

All I know is last night I was amazed at how Kaberle couldn't seem to catch a pass on their PP.

People have been inquring for Kaberle for years. Its pretty tiring to hear about it, "such and such wants Kaberle but he won't waive his no trade clause"

I like Kaberle, even on a pretty lousy Toronto team he puts up good numbers (albeit the most important one, +/-, isn't very good). I could give or take him though at this point. We have a surprising amount of offensive contributors coming up on our blueline this season.

His NTC is gone as of this off season. It won't exist.

Maybe he will go there for a 1st round pick in each of the next 3 drafts?

The NTC on his current deal has also had windows where they could have moved him without his consent every year, and they STILL have never moved him.
