If Boston advances a couple of rounds, it'll make me feel a bit better about the Sabres losing to them in the first round.

Pittsburgh, I dont really like them but the way Crosby is playing is making it impossible for me to hate him.

you are a moron.

Agreed. To say last year cup was fixed is retarded.

Well thats your opinion mine is different.

I don't have anything about Phoenix itself tough i like the Cinderella story but the Wings are my second team so I don't root against them plus I simply can't root for a Bettman team.

So Wings and Nucks are the obvious choices both are fun to watch and endless skilled.

im talking about actually believing last years cup was "fixed." im sorry, but theres no other way to put that other then "moronic"

I will elaborate.

Washington - I don't feel that Washington's fans deserve a cup right now since most of them have sprung up only at the team's recent success. I feel like the cup should go to a fan base that should appreciate it, and I don't think they will.

Pittsburgh - They just won a cup last year, they don't need another.

Philadelphia - I feel like their fans are assholes and their team usually plays a reprehensible brand of thuggery, but I've become a bit taken with them lately. I wouldn't root for them (unless it was against someone I hated) but I wouldn't be pissed if they won. Probably the third best American hockey market behind Buffalo and Minnesota. Their fans would appreciate the cup.

Montreal - They have the most entitled dickbag fans in the league (sorry Philly). Their team is dirty and often the beneficiary of mystical officiating. They need an 86 year dose of no-championship humility.

San Jose - Such a contradiction. An great and underrated fan base that has been tortured pretty badly, but they're a newer team and have Dany Heatley. Their fans would appreciate the cup.

Chicago - They haven't won a cup since 1961 and their fanbase is nearly as tortured as ours. They have several likeable exciting players (cabbie beatings aside) and would definitely love to win Lord Stanley. And they don;t sweat heavily. They are my choice.

Vancouver - They are in the same boat as Buffalo, no cups in their history and a few bad bumps along the way. Still I don't really like Luongo or anyone on their team. Might be nice to see one of the few likeable Canadian teams win a cup.

Phoenix - I like the team and I like the style they play, but there's no getting around it. Their fanbase is the kind of awful you will tell your children about. It's one thing to not show up when there are ownership issues and the team sucks. But Phoenix has had moving possibilities for a while and the team is GOOD. The fans should be showing up in droves to show support and keep their GOOD team, and they don't. Fuck them, they don't deserve it (of course this probably means they will win it).

Detroit - Maybe I'me being unnecessarily harsh on Detroit, but when you carry the moniker of Hockeytown (trademarked buzzword or no) you should be able to back it up. I feel like the Detroit fanbase is complacent with their garage full of Stanley cups and their waning interest shows it. I was watching at the end of their game 6 loss to Phoenix. HSBC Arena is never that empty, even when the Sabres are getting drilled and Patty Lalime is in net. For shame.

Anyone but Detroit. They already have so many fricken' Cups, why do they need more? Screw them. I also don't like the fact that their team is full of sneaky European pussies (obviously not all of them; Lidstrom, Datsyuk and Zetterberg are pure class) that try and get away with little infractions when they think the refs aren't looking. Chippy little bastards.

so, i take it your cheering for the wings

must of gotten a little substance somewhere

Because a team has a crappy fanbase selling out every playoff game is the reason to not root for them?

Just go fuck off really, look at their season, they didn't have an owner for the entire year, they were constantly reminded they might not be where they are next year, yet still won 50 games and are taking the defending Cup Runner ups and previous cup champs to a game 7 in the first round.

Bettman has a buyer for the Yotes already, I think it just needs to be finalized, because that new Owner's name I think would go on the Cup if they won it.

You sure love supporting those non hockey market teams don't ya?

Because I live in one and it only grows the game more.

Plenty of kids are playing hockey because of these non-hockey markets, you will never see it, but the support for hockey with kids and others who play for fun is huge. Just having a team nearby opens up ice rinks, and it opens up players to play the game.

That is what I like the most, these non-hockey markets have plenty of ice rinks to play hockey, and kids take notice of it and that is the most important part. Having fun with the damn sport. So what if they don't show the amount of support "Hockey Markets" show, they show more support in the grassroots programs and such.

If a team is there, kids will play, everyone benefits from it. You're nowhere near me and don't see how many people I see actually appreciate the sport or are playing the sport. I'm in a Learn to Play Hockey class full of guys who most of have never lived away from here, and many are trying to learn to play because their kids are in a hockey team around the area and want to learn themselves. That shows more support for hockey then some attendance figure does.

I also want you to know, Myers, Tyler Myers started playing hockey because of a hockey team in TEXAS, why did he want to play then? He was born in Texas where hockey shouldn't exist also, aren't you thankful this kid decided to play hockey now? And the only reason he got into hockey was because of a team nearby him. Yes it wasn't a NHL team, but even having an AHL team around will open up ice rinks for places.

Phoenix, Colorado (I think), San Jose, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, Washington, No one caresolina, Florida, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, Atlanta

All below the Mason Dixon line. Over 40% of the league. Retarded. (To be fair, Washington, San Jose, and Colorado are awfully close).
