I agree also. Sit them unless needed.

And remind me, who are the added players? Ellis is up ... who else? why am I drawing a blank on that? and who would come in for Patty if he is out for a game or 2?

We have Staff, Gerbe and now Patty hurt...

But I can only think of Ellis being up....

There isn't anyone else up. We brought up Ellis and had an extra forward that was just scratched. I think Gerbe had been scratched a few times?

I say trade Connolly, Stafford, and 1 of the young d men (Butler or Weber). Sekera is looking better each game. Bring up Luke Adam in place of Connolly (he can't do any worse, poor Pommers and Hecht are dying on line 2 right now) or (DARCY, HELLO? DARCY!!!!) trade those guys for a RWer for Vanek and Roy (Dustin Penner?) or a Center for line 2 (?).

Just my 19 1/2 cents. :D

aahhhh thats right... interested to see what they do with the roster when we get some people healthy... interesting... I have no idea of time tables for any one, but I wouldn't be changing anything right now...

Haha well, 4-0-1 with him. And I believe we were something like 8-0 with him in his first games here. And at the beginning of the year he was part of the success down in Portland. Just happy coincidences. :D

Slesh, you've never seen this kind of production from the defense because under Lindy Ruff, the Sabres have never had the defense score like this. They're on pace for 50 goals - twice as much as they've ever scored under Ruff.

If we rid of Connolly put Ennis as that center, and get a RW for Van and Roy.

Or trade Connolly for a center for Hecht and Pominville.

Also Butler's trade value is rising with his good play recently, and did Rivet play tonight? I really didn't notice him at all if he did play tonight, I noticed Sekera, Myers, Montador, Leopld and Butler with their good play, Rivet must have been solid tonight also.

Just figured it out, Morrisonn was playing and Rivet was benched again.

One of the things I noticed tonight and to a lesser extent on Saturday is just how bad we made our opposition look. There were moments when Vancouver looked downright terrible. Couldn't get the puck out, couldn't win any battles, couldn't skate with us.

That is encouraging.

Arena report:
The following organizations had scouts at this game (according to NHL)

Calgary, Tampa Bay, Washington, Detroit, Atlanta, Toronto, Anaheim, Carolina, San Jose, St. Louis, Florida, Edmonton, Colorado, Boston, Philly, and Montreal.

This is the most in HSBC Arena this season. I take it alot of them were here for Vancouver's players?

Calgary, Edmonton, Anaheim and Colorado have had scouts at HSBC Arena the last 2 homes games. The rest weren't mentioned, but these 4 were.

I think bare is right...isnt it?

I cannot imagine either teams fans being disappointed with this one---no matter who ended up winning.

The game had a ton of drama, action and chances, especially late. We're talking dangerous 2-0 lead after the 1st, back & forth, trading leads, 2-goal comeback in the 3rd and a high energy near-goal after near-goal in OT.

I am a fan of shootouts, but I am glad this one wasn't settled that way. it would've been a shame. Shootouts sometimes add drama to whay may have been a boring game, but in this case it would've been a slowdown.

There is a point, If you are really a hockey fan, where the art of the game supercedes the win/loss thing.

Great game. The final point was just icing for whoever got it.

It's really bizarre how little offense is being produced by the likes of Hecht, Pomminville, and Connolly. All of them seem to be getting chances and creating lots of chances too, but they only have like 7 goals between them. Granted, they bring some other intangibles, but at 12.5 million combined it's only fair to expect more offense. It's fair to suggest that one player making 4 million a season could have 7 goals by now.

How different would the game look if the players pay was decided at the END of the season instead?

A lot different I imagine, but this is a contract year for Connolly so that blows that theory out of the water.
