Did you forget Tampa has a winning record or something, they are not a bottom feeder anymore.

Did you forget your brain just had a momentary lapse of reason?

Tampa Bay is still awful. The team got lucky.

no. they arnt. stevie Y is building a good good team down there.

I totally agree. Stevie Y will build Tampa into a better team now and in the near future than Darcy will do with Buffalo. Sorry but I have no confidence in our GM and I have been saying this for years and years now. He's far too conservative and his recent trade history at the deadline sucks.

Montador, Leopold, Morrisonn.

Darcy doesn't make a splash, but he isn't terrible.

Darcy has been here how many years and still no Cups sorry but aren't we in it to win it or just field a team. I know Quinn probably has his hands in this but something has got to give soon. I'm just not a big fan of his conservative ways. Sorry but I want a GM to go after players they want and not just mediocre talent.

No because good GM's know how to assemble a team and acquire the talent that is needed to compete each and every season. Not saying the Sabres are piss poor but I don't call Darcy's tenure all that successful!

I'd say it's been pretty good. He's been to the cup finals. He's had teams go deep in the playoffs.

We all know we would of had a great shot at the cup in 2006 if we weren't playing with a JV defense.

Darcy isn't bad. Is he stellar? Absolutely not. He is what he is. Good, not great. But good, not great is great with a great coach. And fortunately, we've got Ruff. And that's why Darcy won't fire him.

The Connolly signing was tough. But it's also hindsight. Nobody would be bitching about that signing if Timmy brought back his play of old.

In fact, that one difference would make him look like a genius right now, because the Sabres wouldn't be losing games if Connolly could play like that.

He's great a picking up defenseman under the radar. Montador has been a huge signing. He stuck with Sekera and now look at the kid. Leopold is cranking out points. Morrisonn is solid.

I just don't think that Darcy is a terrible GM. He does quite alright for himself.

Hmmmm................
Your tempting me to chime in her PSP. I'm always up for good ole Regier witch hunt.
But, sadly, I agree with your assesment.
I have even stated, and rightfully so, that its not Regiers ability to build a contender that I question, its his boneheaded decisions that have cost this organization more than we care to admit.

He was caught in a catch 22 in the year of the "Great Fiasco" (as I like to call it).
The team was a contender, he couldn't just trade away Drury or Briere without damaging the playoff run.
But, he fubar'd the whole situation by not giving them what they wanted prior to that season, 5 mil for 5 seasons a piece, or roughly there abouts.

I don't know about you, but I would have taken Briere and Drury until the end of this season on the Sabres, especially in light of how much of an impact they had on the teams viability as a contender.

Well since I've been born (17 years) only ten teams have won the stanley cup, that means what, an average of 29 GM's fail every year by your standards. the sabres have been to one SCF and been in the playoffs numerous times (idk how many though) AND had the stability required to keep one of the longest teured (sp) GM-Coach pairs in league history. I'd call that pretty damn successfull.
Darcy also built a team that helped yank a franchise from folding to most exciting in the league after the lockout. I like what he's done here.
