I have no problem with the lack of suspension. He's NOT Cooke, Avery or some other douchbag who makes his living boarding people for 2 minutes a night.
Ok, so you are ok with double standards?????? That is complete BS. If Cooke, Avery, Kaleta, (insert agitator here) was involved there would be a suspension and a long one at that. The hit may have been a "clean" hit but you could make a case that there was an intent to injure.....just sayin but I'm ok with no suspension
I'm saying that it was obviously not intentional. He didn't jump off his skates to blast some poor guy in the head, Chara doesn't do that. Guys like Cooke and Gilles do crap like this at alarming rates, Chara does not. And no way in hell is there intent to injure. People get rubbed out along the boards all the time, on this one there just happened to be some dumbass pole sitting there. I'm not attacking you, I just don't feel like Chara smashing Max's face into a pole was premeditated.
I don't feel it was premediated at all either. I'm just saying that since ALL hockey players know the partition is there. Chara was just into the play and not paying attention to his surroundings. Hopefully this incident will make him pay a little more attention to his surroundings during the game. Ennis is lucky he didn't get seriously hurt when he slid into the partition also. Scary stuff..... You still can't tell me that if certain individuals did the same exactly play that they deserve a suspension because of their history.
On a side note, I guess the Monteal Police received several phone calls after the NHL decided not suspend Chara.....
Quote:
Shortly after the NHL announced it wouldn’t take further action against Chara, Montreal police were inundated with calls from people seeking to file a criminal complaint against the player. A spokesman said police suspected the calls were inspired by a media outlet that suggested the idea.
The police spokesman described the gesture as “irresponsible”—and urged Montrealers to keep the emergency line free for actual life-and-death matters. “Someone in the media has been telling people to call the police to complain,” Sgt. Ian Lafreniere said. “This shows a serious lack of responsibility.”

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.
