In order to do a lot of things that we say we are, we will have to dump salary.

I like Regier's moves so far. Our salary cap situation worries me though. If we want a decent center too we'll have to unload salary and find cheaper players to sign.

According to Snow, Ehrhoff's salary expectations are "far north" of Bieksa's deal. I don't like that.

I don't think he'll sign with us honestly. I really think he'll test the July 1st market...

I don't think so either. I had a dream last night that he didn't lol.

I'd rather not waste Vanek another year.

But you're right. Although he was a -19 on a highest scoring team in the league, he'd be a big addition.

But we were 9th in scoring and 18th in stopping goals....so a top center who occupies space is still key. We play far too much in out own end, especially against teams that are strong up the middle.

Look at the Philly series this year and the Bruins series last year....being weak up the middle absolutely crushed us.

Leopold-Ehrhoff
Weber-Gragnani
Sekera (maybe Morrisonn)

That's pretty damn good...the best that I can remember for a looong time.

Ehrhoff's -19 on the top scoring team doesn't bother you a bit? I know he has other attributes...but we need to be higher than 18th in goals allowed if we are not going to get a top center.

If we do sign Ehroff, we are out of the Richards market as well even if we offered him a huge deal, we would be close to the cap than other teams who Brad may want to play for. I see him being the gut that Torterella will bank his coaching tenure on and the Rangers cap on.

He was a +19 in the regular season. We would also be in the Richards running even with him by sending a few away.

Whoops, my bad, don't know how I read that wrong.

He did have a pretty bad plus/minus in the playoffs, but he didn't play all that bad. I don't know. By the looks of it, we aren't signing him. I think he's asking for 6 million, which is outrageous.

I dunno....I just don't think we're going to sign him. I saw somewhere (can't remember the source...I think it was on another message board) that he wants to sign in Detroit.

Maybe Terry should give him a call...give him an offer he can't refuse.

People with real sources of that information don't post it on message boards.

SBNation blogs are still blogs, still run by fans with almost zero connections to teams.

If you want to believe that 'inside info' you get off a message board, go right ahead.

how much money are you willing to bet on that?

i happen to be very close friends with a couple of them and he has a dozen connections to teams, including office, staff, and players.

sure, some scrubs run the less looked at ones. but there are many that are legit.

How would they know Ehrhoff wants to go to Detroit? He's been in Germany most of the time.

Talk to me when any SB Nation blog breaks some kind of inside information that isn't reported in the more mainstream media first. Hasn't happened yet.
