If anybody deserves a letter at this point, it's Vanek. Those weren't excuses. We all saw Vanek trying to play through pain this year, and most of us wondered if he was just being a pansy, but how he came back from the Boychuk hit this year proved to me that Vanek wants it so bad he's willing to do anything.

I can't wait to see an injury free Thomas Vanek.

I've been claiming this all along. Hopefully our NEXT captain. It took a real chimp to ever question this guys character(no pun intended).

If anyone remembers what I was saying towards the end of the season, and the playoffs game, you'd know I was on the Vanek bandwagon.

He has a lot of scoring ability. Is he captain worthy? Not in my opinion, but I don't think he'll ever strive for that. He isn't a leader type of guy, but then again...besides Grier and Gaustad, who is MORE of a leader on this team than Vanek? (I'm excluding Miller, obviously....)

I'm torn. I've seen the good hockey moves, and great play throughout stretches, but he is not a player that gives 100% every game.

2009-2010 was not a good season for Vanek. It may have been become of injuries, or because of stress with the new(ish) baby at home. I think we tend to forget how bad it was because of his play in the last 5 games (that he played in).

It's nice to root for him when he's on, (Hell, I started a VANEK chant at the party in the plaza in game 1) but it is very frustrating attending a game only to see him dogging a play. He's old enough. He needs to set the standard for the team. In the playoffs, he controlled tempo, but in the rest of the season, he seemed to pot a meaningless goal when we're up by 5.

Tried to be as positive as possible. Of course I love this team, and I want to see Vanek become the player he should be. Here's to a good 2010-2011 season for Vanek and the rest of the team.

Jesus man... did you even READ the damn thing? The guy has one injury or another for just about the entire season, one after another, yet you think injuries MIGHT have affected his play?

Not sure I liked his prediction of England winning the World Cup. They usually don't do well for whatever reason

50 Goals for Vanek is a bit of a stretch but I would be happy with 40.

I think if he had been completely healthy two years ago he would have gotten 50.

Let's not forget that a healthy Vanek and Myers very easily could end up in a 50 goal season for Vanek, especially if he plays with Ennis. Not sure who got to drive the Ennis bandwagon, but I'm a big supporter at this time(and I don't do this for many; probably the last pass I gave was for Vanek).

I think a healthy Vanek with a great center, decent winger and most importantly a good PP-squad is a 50-goal scorer.

He's never done that even with GREAT line mates. If he stays reasonably healthy 30 for sure, 40 if the power play gets to around 19%^ for the season.
