I'm saying this. Darcy hasn't signed anyone in 3 years, so he is either unable to or is just a bad GM. But why wont we fire him? Other teams fire their GMs when they don't make it to the playoffs! We have missed the playoffs for 2 years then kicked in the first round, and he is STILL around! No deals happen, then fire him. It should have been done.

Many of us agree with ya man. A lot of teams would have fired some people if they were in our situation.

Displaced, I come from the angle that we don't know all the details, so it's almost impossible to make a confident judgement about free agency offers/non-offers. You and others want so badly to hang someone, that you'll assume it's all about Darcy just so you have someone to point a finger at.

The best way to judge a GM is by trades, because everything is apparent in that process. We see what each team wanted or were willing to accept in a trade, and then we see the results a few years later. Darcy done a pretty good job over the years with trades. In free agency, we never know what the player's thoughts were, or what management was willing to offer anybody unless it actually happens. Regier isn't the one that all of a sudden made Buffalo unattractive for big name UFAs. Regier didn't make the Sabres profit margin incapable of taking on more than a few big time contracts - it's been that way forever.

I can guarantee that no matter who the Sabres GM is, he'll get the same people complaining with the same thing every year. It's not all about Regier...it just isn't.

I don't want to yell at people, I don't want to start insults, I want to remain calm, but nothing is being done and the Sabres are not going to win a cup at this rate. I long for seeing the cup in Buffalo but the management just wants to wait 10 years for our guys to develop into something they wont develop into. It pisses me off.

I'm usually the pillar of optimism during these times but I just see us not getting anyone.. not doing anything.. kinda sick of it.. And why arent my sabre updates working they should tell me this shit.

See B&Y, you first responded to my other post with a ridiculous exaggeration - that NO UFAs ever signed in Buffalo. Now you say name a good trade that Darcy made, as if there never were any.

Don't respond with off the cliff exaggerations from the opposite point of view. It shows you just aren't willing or aren't capable right now of having a reasonable discussion.
