the diving score is 812 to 798, and I forget who is winning.

Spain goes up 1-0. I think that's all she wrote, unless the Dutch pull a fast one

2 minutes of additional time? The Dutch aren't scoring that quickly

That "hamstring injury" the Spanish player suffered near the end of extra time was awful. I don't know how he's still alive

How the fuck do you get into the last minute of a championship and YOU CAN'T EVEN PICK YOURSELF UP OFF THE FIELD!

Just disgraceful.

Spain has not played a 4-3-3 in years.

btw, it's kind of annoying that some people are watching this game just to find dives, especially when they don't have a clue what they are talking about. The final had very few dives, it had brutal fouls and missed red cards, that's all. I don't get it why some people think diving is a big problem in football. This sport has a lot of issues someone could argue about, but diving is one of the smallest.

Like sabretoothpick mentioned before, the referee should have sent up to 3 Dutch players off the field with a red card in the first half alone. Holland tried to stop the technically superior Spanish squad with BRUTAL fouls (for soccer standards) which in the end for God's sake didn't work out. Would have sucked if such a dirty team would`ve won the cup.

And by the way - hardly any diving in this final... :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

It's because they whine about every little damn thing by falling. And, they 95% of the time are faking it for a penalty.

Torres had been playing hurt (or well below 100%) the whole cup (I think because of a recent knee surgery?) And just got put in, I wouldn't be surprised if he blew something out.

Then again I might not know what I am talking about so meh.

Who whines about every little damn thing? Don't just put generalizations out there just because it seems popular these days to say it. Football is just diving, hockey is just fighting and baseball is just spiting and ass scratching. Yeah, I get it.
Every now and then there is a dive, but nobody really cares about them unless it is in the penalty area. I can't remember one penalty caused by a dive in the WC and I can't even remember 1 single dive in the final.
Falling down isn't a bad thing when you get fouled, because you don't get a call if you keep running. Playing football you get hacked and hold all the time with no call, therefore you'll eventually start falling when fouled.
It's the same thing as most hockey player act like they got shot in the face when a opposing stick touches their face and then they're trying to bleed as hard as they can and look battered. It's understandable after enough high-sticking with no calls.

The English play by play guy was AWFUL!!!!! I mean, I felt like I was sitting in a boring church sermon. I watched the spanish speaking channel and they are so much better. Reminded me of what RJ would be if he were Latino.

Andres Cantor? That guy is TITS.

It was awesome being in Buffalo for the final yesterday. Bullfeathers had fans in NED jerseys with flags on their backs like capes, Caffe Aroma had a veritable mob watching inside the cafe, out on the patio, and crowding the sidewalk, Akropolis had a banner proclaiming them World Cup Headquarters (and they were from the population inside), and this was just Elmwood Ave.

The worse thing about the diving is when the players grab their shins. Ummm, you are wearing shin guards.

getting kicked in the shins hurts like hell regardless of whether or not your wearing shin pads. They're not made or steel or something, it's like 1/8th inch plastic with some thin padding.

Not to say that there wasnt plenty of diving and acting, my favorite is always when there is a slide tackle with ZERO actual contact, and the player still goes flopping down like he's been mortally wounded. That shit is fucking ludicrous.

I hate when players legitimately go down and then roll around on the turf like assholes. Seriously, grow some testicles.

I know hockey shinguards are beefier than their soccer counterparts, but I've taken shots and sticks to the shins and they don't hurt...

I was kicked in the shins NUMEROUS times and never fell down clutching my shins like an asshole. Yeah, I'd feel a sensation there, but not to the point where the guards got shattered.
