This a perfect example why Buffalo has issues with getting shit done.....It's definitely not the community, its the leaders who are causing roadblocks.
Quote:
2 On Your Side reached Councilman Michael LoCurto who chairs Council's Community Development Committee which was working on a community benefits agreement regarding the project. He says that agreement represented more than 40 community groups which felt they should be part of the process. As LoCurto puts it "I think that you know the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation and unfortunately the Mayor is forgetting that this is a public waterfront and that is public money that is being spent." Are you serious, 40 groups needed to have a say??????
We also reached Councilman David Rivera who says Council has a legitimate role in reviewing such projects and land transfers. Rivera says "I think that's us doing our due diligence...making sure we that we look everything over. We don't want to make mistakes. We don't want to rush into anything. I don't think we're being obstructionists. I think we all have the same interest in wanting to see the best possible projects are the best use for that land there." due diligence...don't want to rush into anything!!!! 9 years, 9 friggin years this has been going one. I hate see what his idea of a good time frame for a project to be done...15-20 years????
I hate politics, I really really hate politics. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now....Sorry

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.
