Who said I was going 127 Mph Mike?

My HUD in my 240sx can switch between KM/H and MPH with a flip of the knob, that's in KM/H, so it's only 80 MPH. Not everyday you see 127 on a speedo, even if it was in KM.

 127kmh is a pretty regular speed, isn't it? Or do you mean on a country road?

It was the highway, 127kmh equates close to 80mph. Remember Sabretoothpick, we go by Miles here so it's not common to see anything over 100 on a speedo.

That car couldn't go 130mph, not right now it can't. It probably tops out around 120, but I'm not gonna push it to that right now. When I go RB25DET in it, I'm sure 160 would be an easy feat.

After reading up a bit about it I just found out that the RB stands for the engine model line, 25 is displacement, D is for dual overhead cam, E is for electronic fuel injection, and T is for Turbocharger :auto-driving: . Seems pretty easy to get now. Thanks Wikipedia!

Pretty much, haha.

Japanese motors are all too easy to figure out.

Another very common motor put into the 240sx is the SR20DET motor, which is a 2 litre inline 4 turbo that came in the Silvias everywhere else but in America.

I have the shitty KA24E motor in mine.

Nissan is actually very clever with the naming of their cars.

300zx, VQ30DE engine or VQ30DETT engine in others. 350z, VQ35DE engine, 370z, VQ37DE engine. 240sx, KA24DE engine, the 280zx was the same, the inline 6 2,8 litre engine. the 180sx had a CA18DET engine in it also.

Oh Nissan, you are so clever at naming cars.

The RB25DET come out of GTS-T Skylines, the GT-R Skylines had the RB26DETT motor in them, but they are a pain to drop in a 240sx without extensive modifications to the car body or the entire oil pan of those motors since they were AWD.

Is that a Skoda? The gauges look like they'd be from one of Volkswagen AG's collection of brands.

I noticed it looks like VW gas gauge, you live in Austria right? So that means you guys have the Autobahn without a speed limit too? Or am I wrong to believe that, I know Germany for sure, and I thought Holland does and Denmark all use no speed limit Autobahns.

Yes, it's a VW Golf 6 (my girlfriend's car). You guys really know cars, I could never tell what car it is by looking on the gauges.
I live in Austria and the speed limit on the "Autobahn" is 130km/h.
Germany is the only European country without a speed limit on the "Autobahn". It's nice but most of the time you are limited by traffic or other restricitions, but there are several routes where you can drive as fast as you want. Luckily the route from Austria to Munich (via Passau) is one of them. 220km/h was the fastest I've ever driven, just because the car didn't go faster :D

Haha, nice. The only reason I knew it was a VW was because I had a Golf 3 before my 240sx and it had the same style gas gauge in it, the 1/1, 1/2, 0/1 type. And my sister's Beetle has the same gas gauge to.

At 195K miles, I don't plan to build that engine.

I'd much rather save myself the 500 or so to turbo the ka24e and put it into the fund for RB25, which is 1/4th the price of that motor.

I'll post a pic of the finished product maybe tonight or something, but this is the remodeling job I'm doing on Lord Stanley's mug. The old bowl was a little too thin/weak so I got this sterling silver one on ebay for $18! (Some Revere bowls sell for $1400, exactly like this one! I got it for dirt cheap because it was tarnished all to shit)

I'm in the process atm of putting aluminum sealing tape over the new bowl and will be re-engraving it hopefully in time to bring with me to the Stanley Cup party on Tuesday night when the real deal is in town. I've always wondered how much bigger the real one was compared to this one, so this is a prime time to do so :P

After this is finished, for my next trick, I’ll be recreating a 1989-90 Gretzky Kings home jersey.

Where are you going to find a RB25 for 2k? You're crazy. You need the tranny, the wiring, you'll probably need a new harness, the ECU, the tuning...you're looking at 4k easy if you want it to run worth a damn.
