There are millions of ways people can get a black eye. I chalk it up to Connolly having too much to drink and doing something stupid and hurting himself. Maybe that's why Lindy had a hard time finding the right words to explain what happened. He didn't want to flat out say, "Connolly was being a drunken fool."
Connolly and Roy were on the catwalk together before Connolly had the welt on his eye, and they were on the catwalk together again after Connolly had the welt. They were goofing off and having fun with each other.
I don't get why people are holding Barnaby's ~rumor~ with such high regards anyways. I mean...it's Matt Barnaby.
Because it's fun to speculate. Besides, I like Barnaby.
I know it's not for real. If Connolly doesn't deserve to be punched, then I'm glad it didn't happen.
I just kind of assumed when I read the rumor that Roy lashed out at Connolly for something that was tied into why he's had such a poor start to the season.
Roy is having a season that, in my opinion for the first time in his career, is a reflection of the "get your hands dirty" attitude of the city of Buffalo. You can see the work that he put himself through during the offseason. He realized that he needs to be the guy, and he stepped up.
For that reason, I find it hard to believe that there isn't a side of him that's kind of pissed off at Tim Connolly.
If Connolly is putting in the work, then I apologize for these thoughts. But I feel as though if he was really putting in the work, we'd see it in his game. He still sucks at faceoffs, he's a giveaway machine, he isn't really getting his nose dirty...
You'd think that, with his raw talent, and the potential that this team has, he'd step it up and try to push himself to make a serious shot at going after the Cup.
Why not? Is he scared of failure? Is he just lazy? Is he depressed?
Something isn't right with this guy. And I wish he'd figure it out. Because truth be told, we need the Connolly of old if we're going to have a serious shot at winning a cup.
