Haha Ruff is pissed off at how pathetic the powerplay is.

There are millions of ways people can get a black eye. I chalk it up to Connolly having too much to drink and doing something stupid and hurting himself. Maybe that's why Lindy had a hard time finding the right words to explain what happened. He didn't want to flat out say, "Connolly was being a drunken fool."

Connolly and Roy were on the catwalk together before Connolly had the welt on his eye, and they were on the catwalk together again after Connolly had the welt. They were goofing off and having fun with each other.

I don't get why people are holding Barnaby's ~rumor~ with such high regards anyways. I mean...it's Matt Barnaby.

Because it's fun to speculate. Besides, I like Barnaby.

I know it's not for real. If Connolly doesn't deserve to be punched, then I'm glad it didn't happen.

I just kind of assumed when I read the rumor that Roy lashed out at Connolly for something that was tied into why he's had such a poor start to the season.

Roy is having a season that, in my opinion for the first time in his career, is a reflection of the "get your hands dirty" attitude of the city of Buffalo. You can see the work that he put himself through during the offseason. He realized that he needs to be the guy, and he stepped up.

For that reason, I find it hard to believe that there isn't a side of him that's kind of pissed off at Tim Connolly.

If Connolly is putting in the work, then I apologize for these thoughts. But I feel as though if he was really putting in the work, we'd see it in his game. He still sucks at faceoffs, he's a giveaway machine, he isn't really getting his nose dirty...

You'd think that, with his raw talent, and the potential that this team has, he'd step it up and try to push himself to make a serious shot at going after the Cup.

Why not? Is he scared of failure? Is he just lazy? Is he depressed?

Something isn't right with this guy. And I wish he'd figure it out. Because truth be told, we need the Connolly of old if we're going to have a serious shot at winning a cup.

/rant.

I don't like Tim Connolly at all, and I'm sure some of his teammates get upset and annoyed with each other when things aren't going well. But to assume that a teammate would punch another teammate in the face at a charity event is pretty ridiculous. But I have never been one for gossip or spreading rumors, so I just think this whole thing is dumb. And maybe it annoys me a little more because I think it's overshadowing what a great event Catwalk for Charity is and all the good it does for the community. It isn't just a bunch of drunk hockey players running around and acting irresponsible. And I am almost certain it doesn't involve any physical altercations.

I met Connolly a while back at a friend's birthday party in some random bar downtown. He was a complete fucking ass. Asked my friends sister why she was wasting her time partying with us and then asked when someone was going to buy him a drink. Swear to god. He's the only Sabre I ever met and that's what I got.

Honestly, for all the crap Derek Roy gets himself for the photos and what not, I had a fun time hanging out with him for a few minutes at Catwalk. Nice guy in the restaurant and at the event.

I've never heard good words about Tim Connolly. I haven't actually met him yet, but knowing a lot of guys that have grown up playing hockey here (Baldwinsville is Connolly's hometown) and play hockey with Connolly from time to time, he's extremely arrogant, and a douchebag.

Fuck. I don't understand what he is screaming. The only name I heard was Gerbe's.
Can someone please sum up what he was screaming?

He was bitching out the team for lollygagging during an intense PP practice session.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I heard something about work ethic at the end. I just hoped to hear some names beside Gerbe.

Roy denied this incident.
I doubt it happened, but the thought is nice.

Listen to Lindy's interview after the practice. Quite funny.
"I almost felt like coming in with an ice bag on my hand" (about the rumors that Connolly got punched)

http://video.sabres.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=1

Edit: Lindy said that Connolly hurt his eye during his practice for the catwalk. Apparently he wanted to perform something

Gerbe??? I heard him "ask" Vanek "What do you want him to do?"

I definitely heard him screaming "Gerbe". Doesn't have to be something bad. Could be "Gerbe needs some support"

He was screaming about Pommers on the right half wall, and he screamed at Gerbe for not getting into position to give Pommers support.

Edit: At the beginning he also asked Vanek what he wanted him to do (meaning Pommers)

In short, I think he was freaking out on the forwards and telling them to get their fucking shit together. Get in position to support one another and so on. He was fucking pissed though, and I can't blame him one bit.

Its actually fairly clear, can't understand why so many can not hear it.
