That is correct. No one thought of players getting injured after the deadline. Had we acquired one or two rental players for depth in exchange for Noronen, I think we would have done better against the Hurricanes.

And who do you think we would have gotten in return for Noronen? He was a plug and swiss cheese to boot. I'm sure trading him away would have solved all of our problems.


It would have if we received a prospect instead of a draft pick in return.

When you have no depth to depend on when your entire team is ailing leads to failure. Smart general managers will prepare for that, even if they do not know what may happen.

So the Sabres should now get a shit ton of mediocre players in case someone gets injured? Is that what you're saying? Because that would be stupid. You keep maybe 1 or 2 replacements, that's it. You don't have a whole backup team (well, you honestly can't, but you probably didn't think of that) in case a player gets injured.

You, in fact, would ruin a team if you were a gm.

I wouldn't say they were super significant. The Wings would have probably won without Brad Stuart. The Pens, yes they got Guerin, and Kunitz, but it was still the Malkin/Crosby show.
And the Hawks got Boytnon.

To me, those aren't hugely significant moves on the deadline. Just extra help it seems. In free agency is a different story though.

you said a single deal. all those teams added depth. in deals. that happened.

also stuart is detroits best defensemen, defensively. dont believe otherwise.
