When asked about NHL's suspension to Matt Cooke, Lemieux simply replied that Cooke's days with the Penguins are over. "Even after the first round of playoffs, he will not be back with the team". Lemieux added that in life, you have to walk the talk.

I'm semi-stunned. Never thought he'd do that. So who's going to trade for him now?

OK, I had my fun with it. I knew it was an early April Fool's Joke when I posted it. On my FB, a couple of people didn't bite at all. Smarty pants haha.

Well, now I can safely return to thinking Lemieux is a hypocritical asshole.

Matt Cooke is a rough player with a lot of toughness. He is an energy player we need, or someone closer to Rob Ray. He will need to tone down the mayhem on ice wherever he goes. If we had him, games against the Maple Leafs would have been more enjoyable.

No. Matt Cooke is a dirtbag who shouldn't have a job. Kaleta is our energy player (for now). Kaleta makes the occasional questionable hit. Matt Cooke intentionally tries to injure other players. Big difference.

Why does Johnny Boychuk have a job with the Bruins? He intentionally injured Vanek. The NHL failed to suspend him. Kaleta would have taken Boychuk out, but was likely intstucted not to preventing escalating any future altercations. Knowing the Bruins love to injure players, I am not surprised.

Boychuk and Cooke are on the same boat of thugs who should not play in the NHL if they have the inent to injure.

Cooke, having a no movement clause, may have trouble finding preferable teams who want him. He may have to accept a buyout a year early.

 I'll admit it fooled me. Was waiting for something to be said on the NHL network until I went to bed. Completely forgot today was April fools but then I seen something this morning that the NHL was going to remove hitting from the game completely by the 2013-14 season and clued in.

For this, I retract my applause and Wisers reference from Lemieux and still consider him and the Penguins to be a big bag of dicks. May the only clap they receive be in the form of the STD.

Do you really want differing opinions to get me into trouble? Going through issues with Roy and a Campbell/Sekera comparison are enough already.

No. But it would have been funny to see you continuing to rant about Cooke well after the article was exposed as a joke.
