Everyone was a Darcy Hater before Pegula came to the rescue...
Not true.
Yes it's true. No one liked Darcy. It was always he couldn't do this he couldn't do that and I was one of them but as soon as he got his freedom to build a cup contending franchise some people are like "oh I've never doubted him the whole time." That's just bullshit. Everyone hated the guy, hell everyone and I mean roughly 99.9% of us were calling for Darcy's head when Pegula's introductory presser was on and everyone was pissed when Pegula announced Regier would be returning as Sabres GM. All in all it's aight if you disagree with what I'm saying but literally everyone on this board hated Darcy before his recent moves.
Um...we already went over this. You need to look no further than Gr8 abd Beth to find pre-Pegula, Darcy cheerleaders. There were plenty of Darcy haters but also a lot of people who wanted to give him a chance and thought he'd do better under a new owner. So....yeah you're wrong.
I mean this is just from the first two and a half pages of a six page thread...from one small hockey forum. 99.9% huh? Failing to believe.

Let Darcy run them for at least another year imo. I'd love to see Patrick brought in as President or the bull shit senior advisor position.

I like that he's keeping things stable for another year. Maybe Darcy makes a good move or two and we see the GM that we felt he could be. Or nothing changes, we decide that Darcy was just bad, and we get a new guy.

EH is right, Regier is highly regarded around the league. He does know what he's doing, and he can build a Cup contender and keep it that way without financial constraints or counterproductive negotiating policies. There may be a better option at GM in the next year or two, but him staying is hardly a reason to jump off the boat.

I really do want to see what Lindy and Darcy can do with Pegula as owner. Give 'em a couple of years, I say...

I still say give Darcy a chance with the new ownership. He almost has to do something worthwhile. He knows that the new owner will not be as patient. TP is going to want a winner.

I'm glad Regier can make decisions without Quinn once again.

I figure that in years past, Regier was playing to the owners' desires. A break-even was wanted, so that's what he worked for. New owner, new desires. Regier should be savvy enough to change with the times.
