Well, if Shanny is the only one at the player meetings, then it sure looks like he's making the calls. If the board were discussing/voting on it, then you'd assume they'd all have to be at the 'all-important meeting'. Let's face it, it's almost surely another NHL(G.B.) sham. I think the other guys are there simply for the politics of it all, or just for input on how to make a safer league, as the article implies.

...and don't jump the gun here, Pat. He initially asserted that there was more than 1 guy making the call on the suspensions, and he couldn't find any info to back up his claim(after I called him out on it of course). He will, however receive credit for admitting he was wrong.
There is a player safety board though

, which I initially thought helped Shanahan with the decisions, but it doesn't look that way now.
But neither of us knows, it is hard to find the information on the subject of who actually hears the hearings. There simply is no information on that fact out there outside of pure speculation.
I'm still hoping it's a board of people, because bias comes when only one person is in charge of that.
I just watched some of the suspension hearings, he never says I have decided to suspend at all. He always says the Department of player safety has... Don't know if it mean's anything, but it does lead me to think it actually is a department of Player Safety dealing with this then instead of just him.

No need for violence, just tell her she's got a game misconduct and show her the door.

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.
