I think the deal may have slightly favored Boston. That pick will probably never produce the player Paille is, but it is a move that I felt Darcy needed to make. Boston really didn't need him, but I'm sure they weren't gonna let him get away for a late 4; high 5th rounder. They stepped up, and got a quality hockey player for very little(when I'm sure others were offering peanuts; claiming cap woes the reason for the crap offer). Not to turn this into an I told you so thread, but I said Paille's 19 goals and high shoot% that year were a fluke to bad goal-tending on long slap shots(they were mesmerized he tried to shoot from there, and adjusted after watching tape). At any rate Boston received a hard-working, loyal forward who now has "something to prove"(especially cuz his time to prove it may be limited). I still think Danny has potential, because normally they learn defense last, but he learned it first. The game is becoming more cerebral, and guys like him become more valuable because of that. /text wall
Oh ya thanx for doing the homework. Howie still busted 'em on one. Should E-mail them for a correction(tell them to go to Sabrejunkie.com for accuracy checks). LOL
I think this is true, but, if Buf packages one or both of these picks to move into the second or first round it could very well turn out a player of higher caliber than Danny turned out to be. But then again, I liked the way Paille was playing in his games with Buf this year. Only time will tell.
