'Killer' probably wasn't the right word there. My bad.

There's been a lot of good phones that have come out, but nothing good enough to get me to drop my iPhone. My biggest issues:

1. Form factor. Some of these screens are too damn big for me. I don't consume media on my phone in a way that makes a massive screen important. In almost all cases, if I want to watch something, I use my tablet tethered off my phone's internet connection. I don't need a 4.5" screen that's also a brick in my pocket.

2. Operation. Even some of my most militant Android fanboy friends (and I say that with love, not as an insult) are constantly bitching about something with Android. Almost none of them are running stock, all using Cyanogen or something, and they're always futzing with it trying to get it to behave the way they want. It's nice to have the flexibility to tweak, but not when you can never get it to work.

I look at phones and watch as my contracts come up, but I just can't see a reason to switch yet.

my phone is stock, and maybe because i simply dont know HOW to dig deeper, i dont see a reason to root it, but i have hardly any problems with the phone itself. its starting to slow down a touch, but ive had it 15 months now. its not brand new anymore, so this is to be expected. remember when i got my X? seems like yesterday, but here i am, looking at new phones already.

with me, screen size is a big deal. i think i just like holding something big in my hand (cue jokes about pensi (and yes, i meant penSI)) because it doesnt feel cheap to me. not saying the iphone does. it actually feels solid as a rock. but i think thats why i like bigger phones. feels solid.

Has more information come out on the Samsung S3, I know I read all the rumors on it.

Tom, I agree spot on, my iPhone 4 is slowing down a bit and starting to freeze a bit, but I'm in the same boat as Mike, it's 15 months old also and is almost full of junk, mostly music.

I just want to know how the new iPhone 5 will be in screen size, which does need to be slightly bigger, not 5 inch big, but at least 4 or 4.3 big. And it better include 4G, which it has been stated it will, or is always there.

okay, mother's day is coming up and the old lady wants a new phone. I want to surprise her and I need a good one for her. She's just a texter and phone user but would probably like a really good camera in it too. Aside from picking one out, how in the hell do I get her number switched to the new phone without her knowing?

Shit, doubt it's possible. I just went to switch my phone from one to another (same carrier) and I had to try and remember some 6 digit pin number I had to choose wheneverthefuck I bought my phone the first time. If there are ANY hoops like that you have to jump through it might ruin the whole plan. I'd think at the VERY least you'd need her old phone, and as much of her personal info as you can get/remember. Good luck!

Well I know all the info, I mean we're on the same plan and I got the phones we have now. I know that pin and could swipe her phone for a couple hours to head to Best Buy or the Sprint store. The weird thing is that to view our phone activity i have to login seperately to view the two phones even though they are on a data share with Sprint. Fuckers. Plus she isn't up for a discount yet so i have to pay full price. Trying to figure out one that is a good phone but won't break the bank.

heres what you do. you claim "the network is down. im gonna go talk to the carrier." and take her phone with you. turn her old phone off, get a new one, activate, take it home, and hand it to her.

Yes, I did think about those "oops" moments...like dropping your phone in the toilet.

I just bought a Droid 4, and I'm very happy with it. The 4G and the dual-core processor works pretty well, and it does what I need it to. Last night, I used the HD hookup to watch Netflix from the phone. That was pretty awesome.
