One day and I already love it here. This is what a real Sabres fan message board should be. Joe Dirt says....keep on keepin on Sabres Junkies, you run a good ship here.

We try to run a good ship here and afford people their say. Every once in a while, someone has to man the helm. You registered on a weird day.

Thank you, and to everyone else for the warm welcome. 3,600 posts later I think the boards at LGS have run their course, place unfortunately is going down in flames. Again, I'm shocked/confused/happy about the amount of hockey knowledge and commitment I see from the posters on this board, most of whom I recognize from the old Sabres.com boards. This place is great. Who created and/or runs this? Crosscheck?

Yea Crosscheck created the forum.

After about a week or two on the kickapps software, all of us faithful and regulars begged about a new change and the idea of someone else starting a forum would work, but who had a website already, and thankfully Crosscheck was our man.

We've all thanked him countless times, and are so glad we have a member like him in our community.

Well, without sounding like I worship, lol, I really gotta thank you Crosscheck - and myself for stumbling upon this board during a google search. This place is literally exactly what I thought I Sabres Board should be. Passionate fans, not always agreeing but being respectful and honest. Again, I'm pretty sure that it's cause you guys are/were the cream of the crop from the old Sabres.com boards because I remember most of you......but just glad to be in the company of so many people who ACTUALLY KNOW THE GAME!!!!!

Just as a warning, I will ALWAYS admit when I'm wrong (if PROVEN so factually), but my arguments tend to drip with sarcasm. Never take offense because of this fact, I can't help it, it's just me. Its all in good fun though!

Don't worry, you'll find out who the real sarcastic posters are real quick.

I'm very sarcastic myself and you'll see we love to make jokes with each other.

i hated tothemax at first. because you made fun of me for liking explosions in the sky. but then we got along really good. whatever happened to that pud? the one that would make alabama threads, posting 50 times in the same thread without a single response? well, there was always 1 response; me telling him to shut the fuck up.

I was curious as to how the mods would take it...I laughed. Out loud. And then explained to a few people in the cubes around me what was so funny.

The Gutter. The good old days. I don't think there's anyone left here from it except, Howie, Yankee, SF4, and myself. We've lost Raddog, Gil, LetsGoBflo, Fitty, SG14221, FanMiro(?), GKW, & BillSchultz.

I found you

No thanks are necessary...I put this up as much for myself as for everyone else.
I couldn't stand the sabres.com boards and I run web sites for a living. It was a no-brainer.

Glad you like it though!
It seems this place is slowly and quietly gaining size and momentum.

Cross, is there a cost associated with running and maintaining this board? I'm happy to pay my share.

Not really.
The server was given to me.
I know the CEO that owns the datacenter it's in so I get rack space and bandwidth for free.
This is all free open-source software.

The domain is cheap and I get a few pennies from the ads at the bottom of the page.
Don't sweat it ;)
