What Sky? After today Lydman and Tallinder are off the market...that's it. They can't be traded as UFAs after today or after the season. I can understand not wanting to break up the top pairing (Myers-Tallinder), but Lydman just hasn't been good enough to justify holding onto.

Bringing Weber up would be a great way for Darcy to see where he's at and help decide what he should do FA wise with the d-corps over the summer. No matter what Buffalo does in the playoffs, Lydman won't be a very big part of that, so I'd rather pick up a pick (replace the 2nd rd pick for Torres).

Umm they can be traded still, just not until the season is over, it's around draft time the trade market opens back up, but you hardly see people getting traded, or their rights being traded then.

Don't you remember someone named Bouwmeester was traded AFTER the season to Chicago(?) in an attempt to sign him?

We could do that with Tallinder and Lydman still.

His rights were traded to Calgary, and only because he was an incredibly overhyped UFA. Calgary wanted to ensure getting him before every other team (about 4-6 serious contenders) had a chance. Calgary gave up the rights to Leopold in exchange, but we know damn well that these teams were fairly certain that each player would sign, or they wouldn't have bothered. That was a once a decade scenario. Lydman and Tallinder won't get anyone's attention, and they sure as hell won't end up making what they are now. There won't be any demand for either players' rights, without a doubt.

But you said they can't be traded after today which is wrong, I never said they were going to get traded at that time, it is still a possibility.

I was thinking Chicago got him but couldn't sign him and he eventually went to Calgary on the open market.

Well I was speaking in terms of reality. Those two players can't be traded as pending UFAs, they just don't have any pull.
