according to NHL.com it is only saying that TSN reports. not saying their wrong, but that seems like a high price to pay for torres, and the sabres site isn't reporting anything either.

plus we add a forward when we already have too many forwards, and add essentially a rental player. unless this guy gets re-signed. 2.75 mill this year with a cap hit of 2.25.

Type in Raffi Torres on google, and the first option below is Raffi Torres injury.

Like Bob and Patkane said, a rental. This guy came out of the draft with potential, and ALMOST reached it for one season way back when. I'm not mad about the trade, but it's nothing to get too excited about.

Raffi Torres, iron man hahahahahaa

My bad, I thought last season and the one before were one year. He looks like Connolly though, three straight 80+ game seasons...then mess.

Torres has more goals than all our top 6 forwards. He's not Mike Grier.

probably thinks he's going to be just a rental player, though he may get a shot at the play offs. key word may.

still think columbus got the better end of the deal, especially that 2nd rounder, especially because hmm washington just got jurcina for a 6th.

so hmm we need still have the needs we had before the deadline passed. didn't clear any room for suckera, or solve the forward smash.

As well Torres will not be playing for buffalo tonight. No need for a passport situation tonight.

interesting roster things going on.

if you check the sabres roster gerbe is part of the roster.

1. Playoffs 2005-2006. 5 players from Rochester playing in game 7 against Carolina, and the Sabres lose. Sure you want to trade people just so you can let Sekera play? Especially when we could just bench Montador like last night.

2. What is this forward smash you speak of? If you think we have too many of them, I'd ask you who are forward reserves are. Ellis?

I wanted more scoring. This isn't some high powered offensive move, but it does add scoring.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, it adds a lot of grit and physicality.

Not a bad deadline for Darcy Regier.

Torres is an energy guy with a touch of scoring, and he is a guy who plays a hard game. But where does he end up in the line-up is to be seen. Does Hecht get moved to the third line, or does Ruff put Torres on Vanek's and Roy line as a RWer, and where does Stafford fit now?

He's not this 50 goal scorer and we won't ever trade for one and won't get one until we draft one, because no team in the hunt of a playoff berth is trading away a 50 goal scorer today.

Kovalchuk was a huge exception to that, but he was not on a playoff team and went to a playoff team which is different.

If you trade for a saving grace scorer, it won't be until they are out of the playoffs and the year is over.

so it looks like a move to make a move joy.
and it looks like another rent a player double joy.

I think it may have been to get him, but its not a definite that we would have. Obviously, the two moves we made were connected. We moved one LW and got another and Torres is better than McArthur.

With Tyler Ennis waiting in the wings, say we resign Torres, our left side looks like.

Vanek, Torres, Ennis, and Hecht/Kennedy. Which is potentially a lot more deep than we've had recently.

Our left side is good, I'm more worried about our right side since we don't have a legitimate 1st line RWer for Vanek, unless we break-up Pominville from Connolly and have him play with Vanek and Roy, or move Vanek from Roy and place him with Connolly and Pominville and put Roy and Torres together with Stafford.

Hecht on third line with Grier and Kennedy or Goose.

Vanek isn't on the 1st line anyway. It'll probably end up...

Hecht - Connolly - Pominville
Torres - Roy - Stafford
Vanek - Kennedy - Grier
Ellis - Mair (Gaustad) - Kaleta
