I'm happy. I think I'd score a solid "B" for Darcy on the moves. Torres is definitely and upgrade over Mac.

You're going to like Torres, ETC. He's everything that you think this team is missing in terms of hunger and physicality.

Kaleta with a better scoring touch.

Torres is going to be an attitude problem...he's CONVINCED he'll be playing in Toronto, so he's not worried about signing in Buffalo or anywhere else.

Yeah I heard part of his downfall in EDM was from a bad attitude. It won't really matter if he wants to be in Toronto (he's from there btw), because either way he's a rental that won't be around next season.

I agree Torres is an upgrade up front. So does Darcy re-sign this guy or does he walk and we lose a 2nd rounder?

I think Darcy had to make a move because of the Gaustad injury otherwise I bet he doesn't make that move. It's a solid pickup but is he a rental or is he going to re-sign. MacArthur gives a solid effort every night for the most part but he's a third or fourth liner at best.

I have to agree Torres is an upgrade over MacArthur but if you make a trade for someone on a team that is supposed to be building for the future then why put a band aid over this. We didn't give much up for Torres but that 2nd rounder but if Darcy has no intention of re-signing him then why make this trade. I really think the Gaustad injury forced his hand. Another mediocre trade at best.

the sabres are fine. they got better this season without selling key parts of the future. they didnt move ennis or weber or kassian. its not a huge deal.

Well that should be more reason for him to play well. Players with good playoff runs add like 1 mill to their value if they are a pending UFA.

Well Torres got to see his new team in action today and see how much effort he should be putting in with those guys..

We would have won if we had him in the line-up....
We should do really good on Saturday though. He will bring a spark trying to make a good first impression with hits and lots of shots. He will score a goal and an assist.

I'd question the 2nd rounder, though i will say we have i think three third rounders, and at least one or two fourths, and could possibly trade back into the second round should it be necessary. Regier did say that you don't rebuild at the trade deadline, you tweak, you rebuild over the summer. I don't like it but it's what we are stuck with.

Why bother? He might be the spark/size we need. We're basically in free fall, so this is our CPR. I like it actually. Torres was a great pick-up for any playoff team lacking size/grit/board work.

If he gets hurt/is ineffective, then it was worth a 2nd or a 3rd to try. I think we're nitpicking.
