If that's the case, then why did Tim Thomas win last year?

Seriously, if wins are what truly matters, then explain Thomas' Vezina. He had 9 less wins than Kipper last season.

millers numbers, while still very very good, have slipped. his save percentage is below .930, and his gaa is in the 2.20 range. i think bryz will possibly win the veznia now.

Not a chance...

i never agreed with it.

but the simple fact is there is 0 chance miller will win the veznia, and bryz will win the hart. not a snowballs chance in hell.

Just to make it clear, you're saying Bryz wins the Vezina? I can see that, this entire season it's been between him and Miller.

Who do you think wins the Hart? If it's Ovechkin, then the award has become a farce.

If we're going solely on production, then Ovechkin will win it. He has a pile of points more and the same number of goals as Crosby in far fewer games.

If we're going the route of production, I would pick H. Sedin seeing as he plays on a far-less offensive team than the Caps and Pens, but is top five in points and assists.

were you trying to make a point by not nominating the leagues leading goal adn point scorer?

Yea, he was by later posting that he doesn't think Ovechkin will win it due to his 3 suspensions this season (but I think he meant ejections, Ovechkin's only been suspended twice, I think).

i dont really care about personal awards that much. i dont follow whose leading in what, because i just dont care except goaltending stats and sabres stats, and standings.

If Crosby gets any Hart votes, it's a fix. He's not even the MVP of his own team in my opinion.

I have fun debating these kinds of things, but in the end the only award I want to see any Sabre win is the one they would all win.

Myers winning the Calder would be pretty gnar, though :D

AO should at least be on your list. :)

AO shouldn't win because his team can win without him now.

AO is not the most valuable to his team anymore, he's important but you can't say Miller isn't the most valuable to their team, because without Miller we'd be shit out of luck right now.

The Hart trophy is meant for whoever is the MOST Valuable to their team, not overall league MVP.

Each year, members of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association vote to determine the player who was the most valuable to his team during the regular season.

The Lester B. Pearson Award is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's most outstanding player in the regular season as judged by the members of the NHL Players Association.

The Lester B. Pearson is for League MVP.

Anyone know what Washington's record without Ovechkin is?

If anybody but Ovechkin wins this award I'll be astonished. He's played 62 gms, and has 97 Points. 45 of which are goals.

Sure he's suspended, and sure his team might win without him. But how much better are they with him? He's the best player in the world at the forward position in the game. Suspensions or not, you can't take that away from him.

I want Miller to win it, but I also dont think anybody can take away from how dynamic of a player Ovechkin is, and how much better the Caps are with him on the ice.

You're correct, however I simply think that AO should be in the conversation for the Hart, even if I don't think he'll win it.

I am fine with Bryz winning the Hart and Miller the Vezina, regardless of the probability of it happening.
