I'm sure both camps will deny it until things get a little more official

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

What does it mean if he signed a LOI? Is there any legal obligation to it or would it be just for public information.

All I hope for is that Pegula realizes the team is struggling and that certain changes need to be made. It would also help if he realizes that Quinn is of no use to the team what so ever :D

Has Golisano ever expressed that he wants to sell the team?

He's been cagey. He's never said that he was actively trying to sell the team, but has said that if the right offer came along, and he could make sure the team stayed in Buffalo, that he would consider it.

Sounds promising :D

It basically spells out what terms that both sides agree to, and lays out a general timeframe. It's not binding, either side can walk away if they don't like what they see.

well now with what's being said on wgr now is that basically quinn said they're not selling them for 150.

i just hope that if pegula does buy them, he buys out larry quinn's share, too.

Huge.

He coached his kids when they were young, he has been a Sabres fan for a long time, and of course the Penn State thing.

Well, then I hope they like what they see.

From sabres.com
Quote:
Buffalo Sabres Managing Partner/Minority Owner Larry Quinn in response to The Hockey News report that a letter of intent has been signed to sell the Buffalo Sabres:

“Reports regarding the sale of the Buffalo Sabres tend to surface from time to time. There have been several inquiries in the past few years regarding this subject. Our company policy is we do not comment on them because people make inquiries all the time. Some of these inquiries are serious, some are not, some make the media and others do not. The report that a $150 million letter of intent has been signed is simply not true.”

The fact that they had to release an official statement about it makes me think this has legs and isn't BS. Then again, I don't think The Hockey News would make this up to begin with.

How funny would it be if BTG has worked this deal out and didn't tell LQ anything about it...

I'd love that.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — In calling Terrence Pegula "a great guy," Buffalo Sabres minority owner Larry Quinn has declined to confirm a report that the Pennsylvania billionaire is interested in buying the NHL franchise.

Haha look at Quinn already kissing ass.

I have a feeling Larry Quinn knows his ass is grass if this goes through.

Quinn has to be gone. Like yea, sure he doesn't have to be, but I can't see Quinn staying when a guy like Pegula is gonna let Darcy spend to the cap. Quinn just won't have that.
